I was just coming on to put a horse up for this evening and noticed there was no thread yet, so thought would start the ball rolling. I have been given the Kelleway Horse Pixilated in the first at Catterick tonight. I thought it was worth a play each way as is 10-1 ,but have just noticed there are only 7 runners which puts me off the each way aspect a little whilst the favourite looks to be a worthy one in such a race. I have not really looked through the cards myself today yet but it does look a very ordinairy Tuesday offering. We do have Chester to look forward to tomorrow though, but could there be a more perilous place to punt than Chester with soft ground? Good luck all.
One of the old 606 crew has a share in the jolly in the maiden at Catterick, Ollie is confident about its chances and it does look a really weak race. I wouldn't be backing it, but I wish them all the best.
I agree Nass the favourite does look like it should win such a race which was why i really wanted to follow the horse i was given each-way, i can never really bring myself to go each-way with the 7 runners however. I have had a bet on it as you tend feel silly if you get given one from someone you respect and then it goes in unbacked, i have only had a small one though, and may play with a forcast with the fav later.
I wouldn't put anyone off backing against the jolly, I would be doing the same if I was to have a bet in the race. A couple look interesting including the Kellaway horse.
Morning, all. Shocking racing today in my opinion and therefore am waving the old ‘no bet’ banner once more. Although let’s hope that Amy Ryan’s mount in the ‘lucky last’ at Catterick Bridge (which has been napped by the old ‘Times’ incidentally) repeats her effort over course and distance on her seasonal bow last term. Very disapointing meanwhile to see that God’s own racecourse, Newton Abbot, lose another fixture. Thursday’s card has been abandoned this morn.
I'm sure Chester's May meeting used to be Tues-Weds-Thurs (I used to attend regularly in the early 1990s) - can anyone remember?
Nass, your old fav Feeling Peckish runs at Fakenham but is a long way out of the handicap...vcery hard to fancy. Speaking of Feeling Peckish, whats for lunch guys?
I see that Feeling Peckish’s pilot Alice Mills, what a lovely name for a jockey by the way, had her last mount in a 5 furlongs contest. She will find today’s conditions most, and I do mean most, different. Although in saying that she did win that heat at the very rewarding odds of 16/1! Meanwhile, I see that horses drawn 12 & 16 have already pulled out of tomorrow's Chester Cup. Hmmmmmmmmmn, I say, hmmmmmmmmmn... Chicken (cold, though, so you do wonder if it was left over from last week), chips and salad for me. I awarded the catering staff 7/10.
Big round of applause for the ladies (without wishing to sound sexist )who produced that excellent platter... Mexican cheese and pickle sarny for me with some uber healthy V8 juice.
Good afty chaps... Not looked at the racing cards yet as ive been busy with my golf picks today... All done as i digested a BLT with some strong cheddar cheese, and a pint of orange cordial and water... It was alright, ive had better... I will give it 6/10 and i made it... The house maid is out at the mo... So im going to have a quick look at the cards now and see if i can find owt...
Homemade Pie and salad. Wonderful stuff. Highlight of the day. (after ranting at a kid on the train who refused to move over to the next seat for a lady - so annoying)
I had a small bowl of cheese and mince soup () followed by a salad with lettuce, tomatoes, mixed peppers, tuna and feta cheese with pumpkin seeds, olive oil, white balsamic and plenty of salt and pepper. A couple of "mini" bread rolls and pink grapefruit juice. I've since consumed a banana and a bag of sweets - always get the munchies when I take the bike to work ............................
she was out of my league, she could walk away. No, I was purely irate because the posh little kid was so arrogant. Suffice to say, he was sheepish afterwards. Kids these days, no respect.
He was too posh to carry tools. Bar his Ipad and Iphone. Down here they are all too up themselves to respect people. Opposite of most of the UK!
