After a frankly dreadful day on Monday, with a hurricane at Muss, and a couple of Kempton losers amongst a non-runner, maybe there is a value shout to be had on Tuesday.

4.00 Haydock- CAPE TO RIO 12/1 (NAP)

FINALLY we get to see an experiment with this horse up in trip. There has definitely been evidence to suggest a try at 7f might be what the horse is crying out for, having made late headway LTO, and twice in succession when in handicaps at Newmarket and Newbury in May. The Hannon stable have returned to form with a bang this last week and at 12/1 you have to say this looks worth a try with the chace that 7f could return this horse to its top juvenile form.

I also think that this horse will really appreciate the soft underfoot conditions and has performed well on the twice he was given the opprtunity, winning one a shade cosily in a maiden.

It's a good conditions race but it does look very open, and this looks a good value chance if the step up in trip suits as I would hope it to.

    2.40 Yarmouth- EX ORIENTE 6/1

This is a tough selection for me because it is one where I'm not going on the form achieved so far. It strikes me as a horse that has been learning gradually and the extra furlong will definitely see it in a better light on nursery debut.

It has been very strong in the betting all 2 starts (Fav twice and 2nd fav once) but has disappointed.

However, it may well have therefore been let in lightly off a mark of 74, and with the main rivals conceding weight to him, he looks a good bet and the Gosden first string, being the choice of William Buick.

Nothing for me today, but I like the Varian runner in the conditions race.

Nass: You know your lower league footy well, i think i have found a peach of a bet at 6/4 tonight. Morecombe to beat Macclesfield, any views mate?

Rotherham to stick it all over Accy too looks nice price. <cheers>

Morecambe are three wins on the bounce away from home and only conceded 1 goal away too. I think they are riding a wave at the moment and that price looks too big, whilst Macc are 1,1,1 at home and also have only conceded 1 in those games. I wouldn't expect masses of goals but I think you are about right with the bet.

Rotherham concede too many for my liking and Accy can beat them today, I would rather swerve them tonight.

I think we are a good bet at home tonight, but I may just swerve us again!

Hello, all. Nothing for yours truly today as the action looks on the mediocre side of mediocre and I can see nothing of interest.

But, quick question. Why on earth, I say why on earth, is Steel City Boy running in the 4.40 at old Yarmouth?!? He is so badly in at the weights it defies logic. The gelding is upwards of 38 pounds ‘wrong’, based on official ratings, when compared to everything else in this conditions heat. Unless Yarmouth are paying appearance money this is a Bonkers entry with a capital 'B'.

Finally, Tom Symonds, Mr Henderson's former assistant, is set to have his first runner as a trainer at the weekend (at Plumpton on Sunday with Trojan Sun). I'm sure I speak for everyone, and I do mean everyone, when I say he's wished the very best. Although a bright future for him looks assured.

I'm thinking of putting a hefty bet on a double for David Villa to be top scorer in champs league(12/1) & barca to win it(2/1),dont normally back anything in football cus the odds are muck but reckon this is worth a punt

Barney I know of one trainer who always does this to get a price when it returns to realistic company (prepping in a higher grade!)

Nass: Happy with Morecombe at that price, large single and some trebles with:

    Brentford to beat Colchester
    Zenit to beat APOEL
    Valencia to beat Genk

and one more to be decided, any suggestions?

The 4.55 at Listowel is a €45,000 heat and old JP owns the favourite. With no jumps racing in the UK until Sunday that’s enough for AP to hop across the Irish Sea.

Stoute's in the first at Yarmouth has been very well backed now 5/2 - and Athens who I thought was a cert last time out runs at Listowel. Bumped in to a very good Oxx prospect last time

    2.30 Haydock - Snow Hill, 5/2

Came 2nd lto in a race where the top 4 of the top 5 have gone on to win next time out, this being Snow Hill's next run out will make it 5/5 form that race if he takes this here. Previous run to that was a impressive win at 1m3f on soft ground. With conditions to suit and carrying some form Snow Hill is my nap run for today... <ok>
