8.40 Kempton If You Whisper 22/1 If stripping fitter for his reappearance run after a 7 month break than the 22/1 available for Mike Murphyâs unexposed 3 year old looks huge. After his first two races, If You Whisper took a big step forward when finishing 0.75L behind Towering Spirit over tomorrows 1m at Kempton being collared close home after battling against the fence to get a clean run. The form of that race looks decent, with Sinfonico 1.5L back in 4th winning off a mark of 84 subsequently. The 5th Groomed who was 3.25L behind If You Whisper winning off a mark of 79 too so it wasnât a bad maiden at all. After this, If You Whisper justified odds on favouritism when winning a 5 runner contest at Southwell by a length to Mazovian and although the form of that race isnât very good, the horses have in behind have won in lower grades and it showed he is able to win which is important. On his 5th start back in January, If You Whisper made his handicap debut off a mark of 78 and started as the outsider of the field in a 4 runner Class 4 handicap but ran a very good race to finish 1L behind the winner The Tichborne. It was a steadily run race so I am inclined to believe that the form of this race is genuine. The form of that race look promising with the winner placing twice off a 4lb higher mark, including a very narrow 0.62L 3rd in the Britannia Stakes behind the excellent Sagramor. Further to this, the 3rd that day Amwell Pinot has won since off a 1lb off 91 higher mark and was 1L behind If You Whisper. LTO If You Whisper made his reappearance run after being off since January and although he was disappointing he may well have needed this reappearance run and Iâm willing to forgive that effort. Tomorrow If You Whisper races off what I feel is a very workable mark off 77 which is 1lb lower than his effort behind The Tichborne. If that form stacks up and if in the same form than I think the 22/1 currently available looks ridiculous. Tony Culhane takes the ride and he waits around for 3 hours between his two rides so I am hoping thats a sign of a big run being expected. Murphyâs horses are in pretty good from at present and with an ok draw in stall 7 I am hopeful If You Whisper can definitely make the frame at a nice price.
Sorry ROTO didn't see this one before I posted on Dan's Ron - what are these "Database Errors" which keep cropping up? I was unable to access the site for the last hour or so and was forced to do some work
On a slight aside: Why the hell are teams like BATE allowed in the Champions League? Thrashed 5-0 by Barca last night in front of 5000 fans. What a joke.

Quick write up on Segefield Went with Graham Lee, no secret on here that i work in a Northern Hospital and get loads of jump jokeys through, ive built up a good report with the PJA and the jockeys, so get to go to lots of meetings now. Before i start they are ****e at tipping So, got to meet AP who was a star, chatted about scans and injuries, very little about horses, except that he thought Russian War would be difficult ride and the fall lto may have taken a bit out of him,the horse not AP (got round ok but not placed, went off 11/10) Graham, only had one ride Stand Clear which he thought that if getting round would have a good chance of a place (2nd at 12s, thank you) when he got back he was very impressed with the horse that won Dizzy River, one to watch he said Back at the Bar was with John Dawson who i have spent a lot of time with, he is Chris Dawsons Brother who bred Dappers Dancer and who me and the Don, are still involved with, Lovely kid is John which the Don can vouch for having met him at Catt, told me that James Rev, Wilson Renwick & Brain Hughes have been riding out for John Wade and his new lots of horses (mostley from JHJ) watch out when they ride for him in his colours in the coming weeks, Wilson duly obliged with Quel Ballistic at 66s (on course) 2nd, happy days, James fell on Chicago Outfit but was convinced he had the race so watch for this one after this i met up with Richie Magrath who i had been looking after since his fall at Market Rasen last weekend (top man) had a beer with his mum inlaw Kate WALTON and Tony and Rose Dobbin then took me down to the last fence which is quiet new to the track, Richie is the safety officer for the PJA and is just as concerned with the horses saftey as the jockeys, Sedgefield has a bad rep when it comes to saftey and Rich was devestaed when Murphys horse was dead on landing, he also was very sympathetic to the genuine protesters who berate horse riding and works with some of them to make racing safer all in all a great day, these Jockey's are a breed apart fearless (a bit thick to be honest, would you get back up and ride 10 mins later !!!!) and fantastic company Im at York with Kev Darley and Richie next satday, if i get out (i doubt it) but you will know when i do stay frosty
Dan cracking read mate. I've often thought jump jockeys must be a bit mad (as well as being brave). Bet they are great fun to have a night out with though
heisenburg - When you talk to these jockeys do you get the impression that whatever ride they have they always think they are in with a chance...??? May explain a bit of the bad tipping towards your good self... They always think they are going to win... Your right about them being hard as nails though... The knocks they get through in one meeting let alone a week/season would put a lot of people off ever being a jockey...
Danbo: Nice write up mate and glad you had a good day, looking forward to the Charlie Hall, should be a great day out mate
Morning all, Nothing again today for me. Racing just isn't interesting me on these weekdays. Any news on entries for this weekend's UK action?
Afternoon all. Hope everyone is well. Cracking write up Danbo. 100% i can vouch for all the Dawson family, absolutely top class. Couldnt meet a nicer family. The jockeys are incredibly brave. Cant get over how/why some of them keep going on horses that are knackered and going through the fences or those that simply are very dodgy jumpers!! Nothing for me today on the racing front. Think Aaron Lennon is a good price to score tonight against Shamrock. Ive brought his goal minutes on a spread.
Red C spot on mate, they think they have a chance on a donkey at blackpool, and you also right re my tipping
Hello lads. Great insight into the Northern jumps scene Dan. Nothing takes my fancy today, poor fare again. Looking forward to Zanughan tomorrow in the G3 at Dundalk but the race has cut up tbh. GL all having a punt.
A bit discipline for me today cant fancy anything seriously enough...so no bet i must get back on track....tomorrows another day...gl to those daring enough to play on such a poor day!
3.10 Warwick: ISTHMUS Really nicely bred and looks like it could be a good 2 Y 0. By Oasis DreamOut of a half-sister to dam of a Grand Prix De Paris winner, and half brother to July Cup winner continent. Looks a mix of speed and stamina but the pedigree screams class. Amanda Perretts 2 Y Os have usually come on for the run this year but with Tom Queally booked and a visit to Warwick, I think this might be one of her nicer types. Amanda and Tom achieve a level stakes profit £17.90 together, with an overall strike rate of 16.6%, incuding 33% together in 2010. Amandas horses return a level stakes profit of £12.86 at Warwick. Dabble at 12s.
