Plenty of rain in the Ascot area this evening which could possibly affect the chances of many tomorrow. The one I like is CHEVIOT 16-1 5.20 and he isn't particularly ground dependant. Cheviot ran a belter last time and wasn't beaten at all far in a competitive handicap. That was his best run for some time and notably he was allowed to bowl along near the head of affairs. Despite his decent showing he has been allowed an extra pound by the handicapper. He is a winner off 100 and races here off 93. Another significant aid to his chance is the first time application of Frankie Dettori. If he can get a good tune out of him then he certainly looks weighted to win.
Cheers stick, i'm going to Ascot tomorrow so will have a bit on. I would of been interested in Jamaican bolt(Been a non runner last 4 entries whilst waiting for softer ground and was a Hugh Taylor eyecatcher last time out) in that race if i could of got the 12/1 but will leave it now being half the price. Anyone else got any picks? trying to pick out my placepot picks. Sure to pay a load again considering the first and last races, And the others don't look particularly easy either.

All about the ground today, I will wait to read some of the jockey views after the first race at Ascot and elsewhere. Have fun if you are going racing today, looks a decent day once more.
Hi. Been looking in for a while and wondering where are all the forum regulars? Is it just like me no one really cares about the flat??? Anyway for what it's worth back DUNTLE 2.40 Deauville. 5/1 Best filly in Europe and you'll all see why today.
I wonder would I be right in saying that Hunters Light who runs in munich today in a group 1 at 4.05 was due to ride the other day somewhere in the UK?? anyone confirm this or where would I check this? SDS going there to ride so might be worth a wager... Also like camatini in the 2.10 at carlisle and duntle away in deauville to destroy EK
If you have plans for Glorious Goodwood, be warned that it may not be very Glorious on Tuesday as the forecast is for substantial rain in Sussex, which could have a big impact on the Sussex Stakes battle between Dawn Approach and Toronado on Wednesday. Plus if the ground turns up soft the July form book goes out the window! It looks like the band of rain that was supposed to hit Ascot on Saturday swept up the country over Saturday night, so the ground might be easier for the Sunday cards at Ascot and Pontefract. As that rain originated in France, it is reasonable to assume that it will be easy at Deauville. The French have a particularly annoying card on today, with all the races bar the two pattern contests being run on the inner all-weather track and mostly comprising some pretty crumby races supporting a Group 1 and a Group 3. In the feature Prix Rothschild (2:40 BST), last year’s winner Elusive Kate is going to be difficult to beat with Duntle looking her most dangerous rival unless Giofra runs much better than she did in the Falmouth Stakes. It looks like John Gosden has decided to keep his four year old to races against her own sex rather than take on the boys at Goodwood.
Hi guys Bishop Roko Asc 3.05 - trainer glad the rain has come - odds shortening. It's maiden win (G/S on turf) has produced several winners. I'm on... Wee treble at Carlisle 3.20 Krupskaya 9/1 3.55 Allnessaryforce 9/2 5.00 Bitusa 5/1 was r/up to Krupskaya so it's run in the 3.20 may be a good pointer?
