5.10 Ascot Murura 11/1 Murura went into my tracker in April 2010 after showing an impressive tenacious resilience to finish a very decent 2nd 2.5L behind Magical Macey after absolutely falling out of the stalls and losing a fair few lengths at the start. Murura was under ridden for virtually all the race and made up some very good ground to finish so close, especially over 5f. Murura had 2 more runs after his race, disappointing twice â once as favourite. He left the James Given yard and made her debut for the JJ Hartnett yard after a 10 month break at Leopardstown. He was well supported that day and finished a decent 5th about 4L behind subsequent winner Northern Rocked. Mururaâs next outing came at the start of May where Murura finished 7th in a huge blanked finish, ultimately finishing less than a length to the winner Phoebe Van Gelder. Murura was quite unlucky to finish a short head Roicead over C+D in a 30 runner field. Murura was drawn low and I feel did extremely well to finish so close to the winner considering she was on what I would feel to be the slower part of the Curragh racetrack. After being raised to a mark of 75 Murura had disappointed on his next 3 starts. Although there wasn't too many excuses, Roicead who beat him by a shd has come out and performed admirably since, finishing 1.25L behind Queenie Keen and 1.5L behind Six of Hearts off a rating of 85. The 2nd of these is very interesting as Six of Hearts has subsequently won again off a mark of 102. LTO Murura posted quite a disappointing performance at Leopardstown over 7f, continuing the recent trends. LTO Murura finally showed the promise I knew he had as he landed a bit of plot by Hartnett to take a 5f event at Newmarket earlier this month. With blinkers on for the first time, Murura was an extremely impressive 2.75L winner under the guidance of Mikael Barzalona and has been raised to a mark of 83 as a result. His time that day was very impressive too, as he completed his race in 58.99s with a bit of give in the ground. I think that Mururaâs 3 starts before his last outing can be discounted as I believe he was being saved for his last race. The form of his last race has worked out quite nicely too, with the 6th Fol Hollow who finished 6.75L behind Murura subsequently winning by 1.25L and the 2nd Whozthecat finishing a similar distance behind Duchess Dora, who opposes tomorrow. After his win LTO, Murura changed both ownership and trainer and is now owned and trained by Mr. and Mrs. Ryan. I think this demonstrates that this 4 year old has a lot more improvement left in him. Tomorrow, Julie Burke takes the ride and claims 5lb, so in effect Murura is only 3lb higher than his win LTO. To me, he looks very well in at the weights as a result. Although this is Mururaâs toughest task to date, I really think the 11/1 currently available is an excellent price. If Murura can run to the same level or improve on his latest performance, he should definitely be there at the finish and I am willing to risk a sizeable bet for him to do so.
Today at Woodbine brings us the Grade 2 Nijinsky stakes for a purse of $300,000.With a small field of six it looks as if Cycs favourite Woodbine jockey has the horse to beat with Fifty Proof trained by Black. Roger Atfield brings a German bred called Musketier.Patrick Husbands rides the Casse trained Silver Rock, should be there abouts, but this is for Fifty Proof to loose. This is race 8 on the card. Race 4 brings us the $150.000 group 3 Ontario Matron stakes, this should be a two horse race between Todd Pletchers Embures Song and Baker trained Biofuel. Conteras rides an outsider Dancing Raven which if allowed could mess things up. Saratoga opened up for their card Friday and will go for 7 weeks until around labour day, Saratoga like Woodbine tends throw good odds winners on the turf tracks compared to the allweather and dirt. So a great chance to pick some good paying exacters. Saratoga Race 9 brings us the G2 $150.000 Sanford Stakes with the firm favourite Overdriven to lead them home,

Islanderpei: Good morning, early in the day for you? One comment: Enter Cyclonic111 with an excellent analysis and final tip from the other side of the planet. Flipping amazing really, this Internet business?
blog updated for the day. http://nassauboard.blogspot.com/ The nap is Gabrial The King, a very interesting breeze up purchase for the Bell yard with the superb owner Marwan Koukash.
Nass, good day, fallon not turned up, up north david allen gets the mount, change any thoughts about your nap, currently 7/2 fav
I'm with Islander in the Nijinsky, race 8. Fifty Proof. It seems that the horse has worked the house down and has a wonderful rider. I worry about him being up on the pace in a small field, but he does well on the surface. A roughie to maybe keep an eye on is the bottom one Hailstone. The better rider goes onto the other stable runner, but Hailstone has also worked fairly well. In race 4, the Pletcher horse with Husbands in the saddle looks the one to beat for me. Embur's Song will take some running down. Also has won here over the trip. Biofuel is the other big chance here, but is going to have to step up a bit on it's only run this time in. R. 4. Embur"s Song. R. 8. Fifty Proof.
If your horse wins later in the week, perhaps you should contemplate buying a sat nav. Was at a charity function with Mark Johnston last night and he was very bullish about the chances of 2 of his today-ENGLISH SUMMER and CAIRNCROSS. HE has been chomping at the bit to run the latter.20-1 and 8-1resp.,seems a fair each way buisness.
Morning Filon,Cyc looks to agree with me today. Cyc which site do you use to get your info for Canada racing, (just Curious) Good F1 racing, they should teach Webber how to get off the starting line, he must be the worst of all the drivers. Going to have a look at the cards in a few minutes and see if i can pick a winner, looks like the good racing is over in France today though.
Nice unraced two-year-old Michael Bell is looking forward to running a debutant in the 2.05. "We are introducing another nice unraced two-year-old called Gabrial The King," the trainer said. "He has done some nice pieces of work and we are hoping that he has the ability that we feel he has been showing. He certainly looks to be a nice horse although he has not been given the best draws." Racing Post TMIB, a sat what ? is that some kind of Irish digging machine ??
I usually just use the Woodbine course info itself Islander. And then just hunt around for anything I can find. Google is a wonderful tool. F1 is looking like it could be anything. Webber is in the right place at the moment, but if the rain comes.... Just love sport. Moto GP in the US later.
Fallon missed his flight back from Ireland after going to watch his greyhound last night. You can't make the Fallon story up. Farce of a jockey.
I think now days the car makes the driver, but years past it was definately the driver that made the car look good. To todays racing, Looks like a day for favourites, but in the 16.00 at Ascot is Ivan Vasilevich at 14/1 looks a good ew . Ascot 15.25 Warlu Way 9/2 win Also the end of the tour de France, those guys are impressive, i don,t care if drugs are involved or not you have to be super human to get up those Alps, shame the Shleck brothers have come up short again
