Backed three tomorrow but I am in rancid form (jumpers bumpers aside)

1.30 Nby BANGKOK PETE 20-1 looks like Poulton has lined this one up for a touch.

4.25 Nby THE OULD LAD 4-1 has some nice bits of form and Tom George has a cracking record in this race

4.50 Kelso NOTONEBUTTWO 16-1 C&D winner that has slipped to a useable mark

Looking forward to Cheltenham but we aren't there yet so in the meantime looking at the cards for tomorrow I'm gonna have a crack at the Grimthorpe Chase. Doncaster 3.30pm This race could have an impact on the market for the Grand National with many in this holding entries for that race.
The horse I like is Real Milan. Currently on offer at 10/1. Gonna hold fire until tomorrow to see if he drifts a little. Has first time bllinkers fitted for this and is going to be running off an attractive mark having been quite a bit higher than this. Has previously run in the RSA Chase so obviously well thought of. I thought his last run was eye catching and the field was spread eagled. Jockey booking looks a good one to me and horse looks like he will go on faster ground and Im expecting a good run.

The other I like in the race is Mon Parrain...He has the class to win this if recapturing form of old.

Lingfield 325 I think cabuchon looks massive at 4s with a decent claimer onboard should eat the field today

    Morning gang :)

Bet of the day Tiqris in the 3-15 at Newbury, not a coupon busting price, but he wins today. And I have also backed his conqueror LTO - Vibrato Valtat at 25-1 for the County Hurdle. Expect that to come down if Tiqris wins handsomely.

Another with an eye on Cheltenham is Layla Joan in the 2-20 Donny. Entered in the Mares at the festival (I know, I know, Quevega, yada yada yada!) but is currently 25-1 and for an unexposed horse who could hose up today, there may be some value here, even as a bet to lay.

In the veterans race, I expect a bold show from the oldest horse in the race Tulamore Dew, who has run some great races this season and has a great chance to pick up the spoils today.

I really like the chances of Storm Survivor in the Grimthorpe. With conditions to suit and on a nice low weight, he will make his presence felt. Unfortunately theinconvenienttruth thinks so too in the SSCC so I had to plump for Monbeg Dude, who I won't back on principle! Just waiting on Percy now.

    Good luck all <ok>

Doncaster 3.30pm - Real Milan 10/1 E.W BPG. Bet is down for reasons as stated above. In the last 5 days McCain has had 8 winners i notice from about 20 runners - thats a 40% strike rate this week. That has to be a good thing....

I just cant ignore Mon Parrain at a big price in the Grimthorpe and in the Doncaster 2.55pm Turn Over Sivola is one I really like too. So i have put these two in a very small e.w double bet just for a bit of fun.

Can't believe the beast No Nay Never is 11/8 tonight in the 22.10 Gulfstream. Faces a difficult enough task on return against the talented Havana but I'd be very surprised to see NNN beaten and I've had a very decent sized bet on him.

I backed him e/w @ 50/1 for the GN when the weights came out so I'd like to see some signs of his old ability today.

Stayed on OK lto after getting outpaced.

Golden Call @ 9/1 in the 3.30 at Doncaster seems a good option. Every other horse in the race is on a prep for something else and Golden Call looks progressive and has been fitted with a tongue tie despite winning last time out without one. Worth a dabble in a race full of horses I expect to be half fit.

What is it that makes you like him Pops? Seems to me like he doesn't finish off his races?

PFN has him entered in the National but I'd have him very very long odds to complete never mind win.

I just think he 's got a bit of class Danish....was rated 150, finished runner up in a Topham and will appreciate the good ground. If he runs well today he will be Grand National bound... he's number 41 on the list so is assured to get in the race. A qestion mark whether he will stay the National trip but I can see him staying todays trip no problem

By the way if Pete The Feat doesnt run well today, he's unlikely to go for the National leaving Fehily to partner Teaforthree. Curtis has come out and said Fehily is at the top of her wish list for the ride. I would love to see Fehily on Teaforthree in the big race. He rode him brilliantly last time out.

Disappointed with Layla Joan's fall early doors. Was hoping to learn something - I guess I have - done your dough, let it go!

Mayfair Music looks a big lump! Won well enough though

Burton Port was pouring blood from his mouth in that race, was all over him by the end of the race, no one mentioned it on Channel 4

Knew it wasnt going to last as must have burst a blood vessel early on.

C4 was more interested in the winning trainers matching tights and blouse.

Shambolic coverage week after week after week......
