A few of my selections tomorrow 14.05 York- Crackentorp 6/1 Hard not to back the old boy on his favourite track tomorrow, he made a promising run over c&d lto and he has won the last two runnings of this race and Jacqueline Coward, who was on board on both occasions, returns in the saddle as he bids for a hat-trick not only that he is back down to his last winning mark and eased in grade- everything is flashing me saying winner! lol 15.50 York- Ahern- 25/1 This one will go one of two way- he will absoultely bolt up or he will be right at the back from beginning to end. I am taking a real chance but I am hoping that blinkers will have an effect on him. Im going off the form of his win 12 months ago at mussleburgh and the fact he had a very decent run in the nolfork stakes and was not a bad 3rd in the july stakes beating likes of Gale Force Ten and Smoothtalkinrascal. He obviously holds some talent but he jst needs to tunnel it in the right way and the 1st time blinkers should work. 25/1 seems a massive price and should get in to at least the 1st 4 but as I said he will bolt up or finish stone last! But im hoping its the 1st! 20.05 Leicester- Seemen (NAP)- 11/8 I dont expect the price to stick around for very long. This full brother to Dandana looks a class act, he won by a head lto over 1m2f at Newbury last time and although a 9lb rise seems quite harsh on the face of it, there should be more to come. He is stepped up in distance and is still unexposed and should take all the beating! 15.40 Bath- Highlife Dancer- 7/4 Won very well at Brighton over 1m4f lto shouldering a 6lbs penatly due to his last run- the prospect of lively ground swings in his favour and fully expect him to complete his hat-trick. 15.35 Muss- Long Awaited- 11/1 Talented sprinter who didnt get things his way at epsom when going off 11/2 2nd Fav- will appreciate the ground and as long as he can stay out of trouble his should make his presence felt all the way to the line.
Expect the jockey to have to do a lot of pulling early on before he explodes past the rest in the final seconds.....
Jockey decisions will be key as well - Seemen might get struggle to get his job done if he's covered up or dropped out the rear but if he's positioned into the right pocket he should have every chance.
With Spencer on board too- he does sometimes choose weird decisions whilst racing and gets in to a bit of bother but he is in form at the moment but if he gets out quick and gets postioned in the in the pack- all he has to do is pull him out with 2 furlongs to go and cruise to victory- simples!
That Ahern doesnt inspire me with much confidence Wooly. His last run looks very poor and i would avoid but good luck with it anyway!
Cheers captain- I know am giving him one more chance- but just think the 1st time blinkers may do something for him and @ 25/1 is worth a small e/w risk!
Not so sure about Smoothtalkinrascal winning this. He put in a great effort to finish 2nd in the Epsom Dash but they went off at such a pace , some of the front horses were running out of puff and it was almost easy pickings for Smoothtalkinrascal and Duke of Firenze. The race will be different tomorrow and I would rather be on Morawij. Drawn 1 - will have the rail and the jockey booking of Ryan Moore is a strong sign in my book. He has also won at the course and distance previously and Im expecting this horse to win the race well. He looks a very classy individual and his run in last years Norfolk Stakes (not far behind Reckless Abandon) is top form. That was also on good to soft which is ground softer than he would like. Providing the ground is no worse than good Im taking Morawij to win this quite handsomely. Best price 3/1 at present but i'll see whats around in the morning .
Don't miss Ginger Jack in the 2-40 at York tomoz. 9-1 currently available. The "creative" ride he was given lto earned Da Silver a 15 day holiday - personally I'd have suspended the trainer as well! Ignore the race description and watch the race for yourself. As blatant a bit of covering up as I've ever seen, and the horse was flying when it was too late (never seen that before ... ) I also think that Barnet Fair will run a big race in the hot sprint from Musselbrough (3-35)
very good spot Reeeeeeeeeebbbbs im awaiting atext re this one, did the same at redcar and i sent it out on text, my mate is with Harker today and i should get the nod, keep ya phone on stay frosty
Great tribute from Clare Balding for Sir Henry Cecil on The Morning Line, he was arguably the best trainer of racehorses on the flat of all time.
Pythagorean for me also. Nothing else grabs me. Rivellino was in my alerts but it's a trappy race so I'm not bothering with a bet.
