Evening all, no thread as of yet so thought I would post this up. I notice from the Sunday thread there is a bit of money for Bold Cuffs but in that race I have gone for one that has impressed me with his attitude the last two visits to a racecourse Mount Vesuvius 9/2. Really like this fella and have put him in a Lucky 15 with the following...

    3:20 NAbb - Sash Of Honour 13/2
    3:30 Bath - Bold Cross 9/1
    4:30 Bath - Vallarta 11/2

    Good luck guys and girls!!

    4.20 Drever, not 3.20.

I'm really keen on Escort'men in this - back over hurdles and with juice in the ground, he goes here off a paltry 112. He is still only 7 and as a juvenile he hosed up in the grade 2 Dovecote novices hurdle from the likes of Frascati park and Salden Licht. After running over fences on unsuitably fast ground he finally gets ground with some juice and the smaller obstacles, and quotes of 14s or 16s tonight look more than generous. He could bolt up here.

Yeah Mount Vesuvius in the 4:20 and Sash of Honour in the 3:20 Oddy.

Escort'men is a strange one Oddy. He was a class act several years ago but has badly lost his way in recent years. I admit that in his pomp he would laugh at these but he was returned to hurdles LTO and finished last of 8 finishers so for me it seems he has lost his appetite for the game.

Newton Abbot 16:20 -no.11 Form -65P6 SilkBold Cuffs 3/1 - 7/2 opened at 12/1 Trained by Tizzard ridden by Tizzard.
Unplaced in all four starts over hurdles. Finished 20l behind Leo Luna when sixth of 14 at 25-1 on his latest outing in a hurdle race at Newbury over 2m (good to soft) in March.

    Cmon guys why the gamble?

Decent flat racer Gaz (rated 83), handicap debut and his jumps rating is 103. Strictly speaking based on his flat rating he should have a bundle of improvement still to come over hurdles. Not enough to convince me as he has been off 6 months and meets some in form animals so could be a tough enough intro to a handicap. Who knows really, he could end up making that opening mark of 103 look stupid.

Think the 12/1 was on offer with one firm Gaz, 6/1 elsewhere. I'm sure someone on here got screwed over recently when a firm offered much larger odds compared with other bookies so they took the price, horse won and they received an email saying they would be getting paid out in line with the other prices, robbery basically. Whoever that was, did you chase after them to settle the bet in full?

If the ground dries out I think Sporting Boy could take quite a bit of beating on first start for Johnny Farrelly in that race!

My mistake on the race times mate - too much white wine last night.

You might be right about Escort'men having fallen out of love with the game, but this is his first start over hurdles with some juice in the ground for a long long time and I think it worth a small e/w dabble

2 for me today at Roscommon in the shape of Darwins Fox 7/2 in the 4:35, decent looking Novice Chase and now that Henry De Bromhead looks to have got this fella spot on I think he will be hard to beat having beaten recent winner Nearest the Pin comfortably on his last start over timber, obvious danger lurking with The Real Article, who drops back in trip and Shadow Eile who fell when mounting a challenge against Rebel Fitz last time but I was just taken with Darwins Fox win LTO and am happy to take the 7/2 he can gain back-to-back success. (The Real Article N/R now so R4 beckons)

I will take a chance on Hunting Party 5/2 in the 5:35 to transfer his recent hurdle form to the big obstacles with his introduction to chasing , not much between himself and the favourite Useful Smurfer but Dessie Hughes can have this fella ready to go tonight and with a clean round I expect a winning introduction.

Two singles and the double. Best of luck lads :emoticon-0148-yes:

15:20 Newton Abbot - Slow Train Coming

(Hopefully not too slow. Has a good speed figure for this event, but would not need any more rain. Should handle the current good-to-soft (soft in places), but one can't be 100% certain that he will. Have taken a bit of the 9/1 generally available).

    GL all today!

Trainer on ATR this morning and gave it as his best chance today. reckons its much better than its handicap of 103 and should be winning off this mark today or certainly the next day (if not today).

Miracle Of Medina running again late October at Newbury, my friend saw one of the owners again yesterday and she told him it will win again! Obviosuly won't be 25's again but its one for the diary! Will have a wee play on Bold Cuffs today, had 4 winners yesterday out of 5, so Glasgow tomorrow paid for, be lucky folks. I.B.A.

If it was good ground I would have been incredibly strong on Sporting Boy but he fairly hacked up. I thought he was going to kick on massively at the end of last year over hurdles before disappointing and hopefully he can resume his progression with Johnny Farrelly.
