MA FILLEULE 1.30 Kempton 7-4 is the class mare in this field and despite Hendersons in and out form she is the one to be on but only with BET365, that price wont be around long I wager. Anyone give me a 6/4 on there being a non runner in the first at Kempton tomorrow?!?!
Evening, Stick. Got to take you on here - I see no sign that Ma Filleule gets more than two and a half miles, and I don't think she can give HIGHLAND RETREAT 8lb over three. You wouldn't expect Fehily to allow it to turn into a dash up the straight, so it could be a v.interesting race to watch tactically. And I think some of the collateral form is misleading in terms of this race. MF's second in a decent race behind Doyly Carte was good, but over 17f, and Doyly Carte's admirable run at Haydock yesterday was over two miles. This is just a personal theory of mine, but the offspring of Turgeon seem to me to go better over quirky little courses (Fakenham etc) than they do on big flat tracks. But you could be right about the betting, although when I attack Highland Retreat mid-morning tomorrow, MF may well drift as the Big Three run for cover. Good luck anyway.
I must say I'm very surprised (probably even going as far to say surprised with a capital "S") that Poet turns out in the card-closing Conditional Jockeys Handicap Hurdle at Kempton. A group 3 winner on the flat and with just the 2 runs over hurdles to date - hosed up in a class 4 maiden hurdle at Newbury before finishing down the field on desperate ground in the Tolworth. Connections seem to be setting their sights rather low in this, but I suppose at 8 years old they aren't expecting a ton of improvement? Still seems an odd starting point and the 7/2 tissue price would seem quite reasonable.
ROYAL BOY Track Royal Boy View form 6-y-o; bay gelding Breeding: Lavirco (GER) - Quintanilla (FR) Trained by N J Henderson Form: 1/23 Irish point winner, finished a close second to Melodic Rendezvous at Cheltenham in December then disappointed behind same horse at Sandown following month. Rated 133. “Good sort of horse that you didn’t see at his best on his second outing on heavy at Sandown but you got a better idea of what he could do on his previous run at Cheltenham. There were reasons for his Sandown performance which have hopefully been sorted out.” Nice prospect of Nicky Hendersons goes chasing tomorrow, and makes his debut in a handicap off a mark of 133 - which for my money puts him well in if we chance that he jumps well enough. Might be one to throw in for L15 or Yankee players tomorrow if you have a small dabble on those shorties. I'm more interested in whether he develops into anything useful after that.
The Lions ruined my bet for me by going for a ridiculous throw with less than a minute left, 3 points behind in field goal range.....
The Bronco's v Patriots game is another great punting opp (I hope I've got it right). Broncos to score more than 27 points in the game 10/11 Broncos to win - 10/11 More than 53 points in the game total - 10/11 It's started well but really windy so anything could happen. Three Patriots fumbles in the first 10 minutes. Unheard of.
This is farcical by my boys Bob, you're flying there though. Score here an you can put a fork in this one. Ridley should be benched till spring camps, also there making Moreno and Ball look like a backfield tandem of Barry Sanders & Marshall Faulk. Incandescent with rage.
Hope you stayed up for this Truth. Epic. Two bets landed. Now it's next score wins. Come on Broncos!!
Unbelievably, from 24-0 up at halftime to drawing 31-31 at full time to losing after an almighty balls up after a punt. What a game though. I'm knackered and poorly but it was worth that to see this one in telly.
Unreal, flapped it and went to bed, recorded it but still fuming I missed it live. Performance for the ages that.
A gamble going on at Wolves 4.00 Exceedexpertations opened up 16/1 no into 5/1. Could be the Christmas money for the stable now they move him back up in trip and book Graham Lee. I like one at Wolves 5.00 Slinky Mcvelvet 4/1 and one at Ludlow 3.20 Realta Mo Croi 5/2 Best of luck all
Morning, one and all. Hope everyone well. The ‘oss that I been raving on about for months now makes his timber bow this afternoon and I’m as excited as a military man who’s just been introduced to minor Royalty! WEST WIZARD is the name (12.30 Kempers Park). Mr Henderson has waved his wand and expect to be spellbound this afternoon, people. However, as I’m a humble working soul I won’t be getting involved at quotes of 1/6. One that I have backed though is LONG RUN to win the 2014 Grand National. He’s the only docket in my ante-post locker, right now, and I took 33/1 from Joe Coral on Saturday evening. I’ve been speaking about him for this heat for some time and finally took the plunge after he ran the most eye-catching GN trial on Saturday afternoon in the ‘Betfair’. He travelled wonderfully for 20 furlongs before simply being done for toe by much faster horses. The spark remains people but these days he simply needs 4 miles+. Long Run is going to have a large impost at Aintree, should he get there, but this will be offset by the fact that he is going to be rejuvenated by such a test of stamina. Good luck all.
I mentioned it last time that the dodging bullets form will prove useful this year and have taken the 7/2 on turn over sivola to turn over the Henderson shortie
SBC: Look forward to watching this West Wizard, hope he does well. I hope Long Run does not get weighted out of this, as, being a class jumper, they will load him up for this 'heat'. Never heard anyone call the Grand National a 'heat'. Great!
