Today’s Flat Racing comes from York and two All-weather meetings at Wolverhampton and Dundalk.
For National Hunt enthusiasts, there are meetings at Newton Abbot and Carlisle.
At York, the main feature is the Acorn Web Offset Handicap Stakes (3.05).
It may pay to take a chance here with David Simcock’s Vainglory. He’s been running well all season (without winning), and put in a good effort last week behind Luca Cumani’s improving three year old, Mundana.
Laura Pike claims the 5lb allowance and I’ll be having a nibble at best price 14/1(Ladbrokes).
At Newton Abbott, Ruby Walsh makes the journey over to take three mounts- two for Paul Nicholls - Edgardo Sol and King of The Night and one for Evan Williams –Timesawastin.
King Of The Night faces a competitive little field but Ruby’s other two mounts should win with little fuss.
I think he’s every chance of completing the treble.

Good morning, Cyclonic. I'm a bit knackered and p-ssed off, to be honest. Played my worst golf of the year yesterday but never mind, I'm off to the sun of Menorca tomorrow; good food, relaxation, good company. That'll do me!
    PS. Taminator...like that!

Morning, all. Something of a poignant, sad, and dare I say emotional, day today as it’s God’s own racecourses, Newton Abbot’s, final fixture of the calendar year 2011. I’m sure I speak for everyone, and I do mean everyone, on the forum when I thank them for the sport this term and wish them more continued success in 2012. Can’t recommend anything at the track this afternoon but in the ‘selling hurdle’, as always, would expect more plots than in an Agatha Christie novel.

Meanwhile, am disappointed to see that John Gosden has pulled Fencing out of the Dewhurst at the 11th hour. He did the same thing re the horse in the Royal Lodge. Any more of this and Mr Gosden will earn the nickname ‘creosote’ for the way he keeps protecting his Fencing.

Morning all and a lovely seasonal swansong for Newton Abbot today Sir Barney - the feature handicap hurdle at 3.30 has some decent sorts in it and the old handicapper has certainly done his work well. Each of the 10 runners could be given some sort of chance and the top 2 could certainly be involved at Cheltenham in March given a following wind. No doubt Ruby's mount will be popular and he certainly looks the "class act" (such an over-used phrase on the old forum in recent days) but the one I'm going to plump for is Salontyre. He ran the ridiculously well-handicapped Mad Moose to 15L in a similar event in August and should go close here off 126 with the excellent Mark Quinlan taking 5 off.

Best of luck to everyone <ok>

Nothing like a 3 miler with a gut busting finish. Nothing Like That in the 14:45 seems to like getting over the longer trips. With the carlisle course soft in places and AP on board, the horse seems a decent EW bet.

What's your thoughts on the 2pm at York?

Hanagan only has one ride in this race before heading off to Wolverhampton. He is on Passionada which is currently 7/1 (hills)

Also noticed that Hanagan rides on Key Breeze (7/2 hills) for Ryan Hills in the 9.15 at Wolverhampton after passing over the Fahey horse to ride.

    Morning All

Going with an old favourite tonight at Dundalk in the 9 o'clock race, Carlito Brigante. Horse ran well here towards the end of last season and is on a mark that gives him a live chance, trip may be on the sharp side, but has to command some respect off its rating.

    Have a good day,

Striker, Passionada certainly has a chance but Freddie Mercury's single should be the "Killer Queen."

    Hello lads.

Last day of normality before we revisit yet another round of the increasingly tedious and ultimately insoluble "Frankel the best ever" debate...:emoticon-0118-yawn:

Anyhow, some decent racing today but nothing really stands out so no bet again for me.

Looking forward to tomorrow and Sunday with some great action under both codes.

    GL all having a punt.
