Only one runner from the Longsdon yard tomorrow in the form of DAWN COMMANDER. We knew he was well handicapped at the start of the season and we had a momentous punt that was scuppered by the weather. He wasn't long in coming good though winning by a wide margin on his most recent run. The handicapper has thumped him for that and quite rightly so. He should go well tomorrow and while I wouldn't recommend backing him I wouldn't put anyone off either.
The horse I am interested in though is trained at Newmarket by the lovely Mrs Lucy Wadham. I know she thinks the world of this horse and thinks he can be competing with the best in novice chases this season. She will need to be spot on with that assessment if he is to win tomorrow but there is certainly a whiff of confidence about this one. LE REVE 2.20 Fakenham 12-1 progressed very gradually last season. The P in the form was behind a super horse of Henderson's in a bog at Sandown but prior to that he beat a very useful animal called Up To Something. He is a horse that carries the tag "whatever he did over hurdles was a bonus" and now facing fences you will see the real animal. I hope their confidence is justified.

I think Wonderful Charm is a very, very good horse and backed him for the World Hurdle when he disappointed. He's much better than that and although I won't be going near him at odds on for his chasing debut its going to take a very good one/poor performance for him to be beaten.

Good luck lads as my money isn't on.

Since we appeared to be marooned in Belfast until June 2014,I have accepted a position covering maternity leave until next Easter.

Working backwards from Nass's situation,I have decided to celebrate the end of early retirement by going to Wexford this weekend for Opera and Racing.

La Traviata on Saturday, missing the races, before going to the races on Sunday.

The card looks decent with the track staging its first ever Listed event. The weather forecast is absolutely awful but that should keep away the posers at least.

Wondering if any of the Irish lads have any tips about the area.I'm staying at the Talbot on the Quay.

Everything seems very central with the racecouse practically in the actual town a la Chester.

    Thanks.

Appears some "fiddling" was nipped in the bud at Wolvers this evening with the powers that were in charge ,acting under a higher directive no doubt, forcing the withdrawal of the said gamble...hmmmm..

I wonder if they are going to reciprocate by forcing Stoute,Prescott,Cecil,Gosden,Lanigan,Charlton,Haggas,Dunlop squared,Balding et al to withdraw their horses 40 mins from the off in newcomers events on the basis that they are never trying and using the racecourse for training?

    Thoughts?

Cheers stickwise got on it at 9s. :emoticon-0148-yes: Haven't been doing much lately but had few today...had a six horse accum for small stake let down by woodbank the dirty soandso!! :emoticon-0149-no: would have been small stakes big return!

One decent sized bet for me tomorrow on Dutch S @ 3.00 3/1 now there. Think it should run very well.

be interesting to watch Al Kazeem's half brother Kazak tomorrow too in a handicap at 4.10 when the ground will likely be soft for it.

Here's my Lucky 15 ew for tomorrow including Dawn Commander...had to do it stick great price and I'm a big Jason Maguire fan also.

    Hartnell @ 5/1 (GP)
    Win or E/W
    13:40 HANDICAP (0-95) 1m

    Dawn Commander @ 5/1 (GP)
    Win or E/W
    15:25 HANDICAP CHASE 3m 110yds

    Kazak @ 8/1 (GP)
    Win or E/W
    16:10 HANDICAP 1m 7y

    Bohemian Dance @ 7/1 (GP)
    Win or E/W
    15:35 HANDICAP 1m 2f 6y

Good Luck to all who play.

    Keep er lit lads! <laugh>

Prodigality Doncaster 3.20. Started off the season with a win off 95 and now back to that mark, well drawn and worth an ew dabble. Good luck all.

Not a bad novice chase you are analysing there folks. King Of The Knight has some useful experience and the day he puts it all in he could take a useful sort of race so at 8/1 against novices he is interesting but not a race to play.
