Cor blimey Charlie Longsdon has nine runners tomorrow, the yard will be deserted! The way they are running at the moment all nine could win. Stable jockey Noel Fehily goes to Carlisle and in my view the main reason for that is to partner up with SUPERIOR QUALITY 3.55. The P in his form was behind At Fishers Cross at the Festival and that is surely foregiveable. He has his first run over fences tomorrow and he could be high class in this sphere. He should win. Fehily also partners DROP OUT JOE 3.20 who has already won for us this season. that win was in really good style and he can defy a penalty and follow up. The other one I will be on from the yard tomorrow is HARRISTOWN 1.50 NA but the main reason is that I was so taken with him when I saw him at the yard. He is a gorgeous looking son of Bering out of a Sadlers Wells mare so a test of stamina and a bit of cut should help him leave his French flat form behind. He was bought out of Mme Heads yard having shown a little bit of form on the level. he looks the type to do well over hurdles.
One on the flat at York tomorrow that might be interesting is Richard Fahey's JUSTONEFORTHEROAD 3.05 25-1. This horse ran fourth in the Lincoln off 94 and won at Leicester on soft this time last year off 90, runs tomorrow off a mark of 86 and has a 7lb claimer to lessen the the load. Mr Fahey applies first time blinkers and if they fire him up he could return to form with a BANG!
19.10 Wolv- Hi Filwah- 11/8 Has to be the most unluckiest but consistent horse has been sent off favourite on seven of his previous eight outings, but only once has he managed to get his head in front. His form reads 222212- he pulled clear of the rest when runner-up on handicap debut over C&D lto and will go one better 15.30 Newton Abbot- Kangaroo Court- 9/4 Bit of a short price to tip up- but winner is a winner is the only C&D winner out of this lot and was very impressive indeed and can defy his 11lb mark, is a horse for this course and is on form
Always been big fan of the horse and they have some talented ones in her stable but as u sau was a shocker last season this yr will be back to normail
4.50 York Ranghi Chase Has rock solid form, ryan on boar and should like the larger field where.a strong pace will be set is a quality horse (or has the makings of one) hasnt been at his yard for very long but they like him and should be the one to beat tomorrow
Beeves is my selection today against the Longsdon hotpot in the Novice Chase. He has looked a chaser in the making whenever I have seen his hurdles races and I think he can make improvements over fences.
Stick which would you say is your strongest Longston bet? i'm gonna put your three in a trble and some little doubles with them and the rest
Morning all... As stick has pointed out Charlie Longsdon has a few runners out with every one of his runners at Carlisle heading the market at the moment...!!! The very fanciful bet of him going through the card, all be it in the 1st where he dosnt have a runner, is £195 to the £1 bet... So ive had a tenner...!!! No, i havn't, but he must strike with a few of em up in Carlisle... Elsewhere i think the Nicholls 2 of Vesperal Dream and Wilton Milan can come up for the double... So ive put them in with Up To Something and Superior Quality to make up some short priced Yankee... 2.55 NA - Vesperal Dream, 2/1 3.30 NA - Wilton Milan, 15/8 2.45 Car - Up To Something, 7/4 3.55 Car - Superior Quality, 5/6 £2 win Yankee pays £306, just for a bit of fun while the day passes by...
Sir Barney i am surprised that you have not been championing the spirit of your favourite Corinthian Sam Waley-Cohen today... Sam Waley-Cohen has found himself yet another challenge when he has his first ride in Sunday's Velka Pardubicka... see link from ATR...http://www.attheraces.com/article.aspx?hlid=538921&lid=&raceid=&title=Waley-Cohen+takes+Czech+challenge&ref=PA+Racing+Feed&nav=home&sub=&day=Fri A brave boy taking on the famous Czech Velka... Again see link... http://www.czechtourism.com/e/velka-pardubicka-cross-country-steeplechase/ I would love to go over and see this race once in my life time as it must be something very special indeed. So, although i have given young Sam a bit of stick in the past, i wish him well in this adventure over the extremely hazardous course that is the Velka Pardubicka...
The Velka Pardubicka has quite a bit of UK and Irish interest this year and will be shown live on RUK at 15.30 UK time on Sunday. If you've never seen it, give it a watch - absolutely amazing spectacle.
Charlie Longsdon starts the day off with a winner... 1 down 8 to go... And of course to those who backed him...
Kielan Woods seems to be a very happy jockey at the moment, and should be while he is riding with Charlie...
