2.30 Aintree- OFaolains Boy- 5/2- Has some of the best form by far, improved massively to win at Cheltenham and before that he beat Many Clouds at ascot and although he was getting weight from him and the ground will be very different and I see no reason why to desert him as he just keeps improving. 3.40 Aintree- Dunowen Point- 16/1 ew 8lbs lower than his 4th in this last year and although out form this term this would have been the plan and a fairly quiet season for the yard McCain knows how to get horses ready for this race and given his front running tactics if he is allowed to bowl along with an easy lead he will stay out of trouble and be very hard to peg back and at worst will get in the places
2.00 The Game Changer 18/1 Hoping the rain stays away for The Game Changer, his form in Ireland is decent but I expect him to improve for a stongly run race on good ground. Josses Hill should be hard to beat though. 2.30 Don Cossack 7/1 NAP On The Don at 8s but 7s best now, hes the main man for me tomorrow, he would have won the RSA in my book and I expect him to confirm that tomorrow. 33s for next years Gold Cup might be a worth a dabble. 3.05 Ballynagour 7/1 Just a speculative punt tbh, was probably the easiest winner of the festival and he destroyed a well handicapped horse in Colour Squadron, its such a weak Group 1 and although it could be a big if, if the same horse turns up he must be involved. 4.15 Racing Pulse 14/1 NB Very keen on this one as long as the rain stays away, I think he is a really nice animal who has hated soft ground on his last two runs and acquitted himself well considering. There is still a slight question mark about what he is doing off the bridle because it is unfair to judge him on those soft ground races although I seen enough in them to take hope that he does enough off it, at 14/1 ill certainly give him a chance to find out. Dont know who Longsdon has been putting away on the old stable tours but his best horse runs here in the shape of Killala Quay 7/1, hes a really smart horse, travels ok, well enough you would think to comfortably handle a 3 mile Grade 1 although I do expect this to be very strongly run, but this horse does his work off the bridle and I rate him the only danger to Racing Pulse on good ground. If he doesnt get too far back it will take a good performance to hold this beast off tomorrow and it was a tight decision for me but im taking the chance that Racing Pulse just has that bit more natural class. Ive a saver on Longsdons and will do the R/F tomorrow. If its torrential rain tomorrow and ends up soft then forget everything I have said about this race as its all based on good ground!
Very keen on the Warren Greatrex runner Hannah's Princess in the mares bumper at Aintree. She has won both her starts to date with consumate ease and was ridden both times with maxium confidence by Noel Fehily. I think they knew they'd got a good one here before her debut. What really impresses me about her is that she travels so well but then produces a pretty impressive turn of foot to put her races to bed. As always it is difficult to know what she's beaten but few trainers have better bumper records than Warren Greatrex and he has his string in good nick at the moment. Struck my first bet at Aintree on Hannah's Princess e/w at 10/1 BOG
As someone said yesterday it's the 'Smelling' Chase tomorrow: that sums up that race for me too Josses Hill to frank the VAUTOUR form in the first
Tomorrow's lucky 15. Aintree,2-00, Josses Hill. Aintree,2-30, Wonderful Charm. Aintree,3-05,Rolling Aces. Aintree,4-15, Port Melon. Good luck to all.
Hello lads. Rain forecast tonight so holding fire on a couple of fancies. I have had a few quid on Cash and Go @ 20/1 e/w 4.50 Aintree. This has been running much better than his figures suggest and is off a very tempting 135 with Carberry up top. Could easily get into the shake up in another really tight h'cap. Hoping one drops out of the big one on Saturday to give Goonyella a run..on at 50's nrnb but would love to see him line up...needs to happen before 9am and the only chance would be heavy rain really. GL all.
Good luck lads. Nothing for me. Your Busy was strongly tipped on The Final Furlong. I backed Module each way at Cheltenham. I'll watch them both with interest.
I like LITTLE JON tomorrow. He is only a novice but ran a cracker from the front in the Imperial. The handicapper has dropped him a pound for that run which I cant figure. I think he is capable of a really good run at a fancy price tomorrow. He may even get a form boost earlier in the day.
3 I have backed and put in a trixie (all eway)... Rolling Aces 14/1 Ma Filleule 14/1 Giantofaman 11/1
2.30 Don Cossack 7/1 NAP On The Don at 8s but 7s best now, hes the main man for me tomorrow, he would have won the RSA in my book and I expect him to confirm that tomorrow. 33s for next years Gold Cup might be a worth a dabble. [/QUOTE] I backed him at Cheltenham and I agree with you was looking like the winner if not placing before falling...I wont be backing him as wont get to see it. Good luck though!

Morning, troops. Hope everyone well. What did we think about Sam Waley-Cohen, the forum’s favourite Corinthian, yesterday then?!? Was Superb with a capital ‘S’ in my book. If ever young saddle monkeys need to be taught how to ride round the GN fences simply show them a tape of that ride. Faultless. Pick of the riding from me was the way that he and Warne sailed over the ‘Canal Turn’. Man and beast in perfect harmony. I hope someone took a decent pic of it, as well, as it is the sort of snap worthy of mounting and putting on the wall. Let’s hope for more of the same from the Corinthian jockey on Long Run tomorrow. The anticipation is fever pitch even with 24+ hours to go... Today’s racing is somewhat the calm before the storm but there will be long faces, other than the horses, at Seven Barrows if JOSSIES HILL (2.00) and BEAT THAT (4.15) don’t win the novice hurdles. This is likely to be the formers last run over hurdles before going novice chasing next term whilst the latter, who has had his problems in the past, could make up into a ‘World Hurdle’ contender next term. For Beat That today is the day he will be asked to come of age. Good luck all.
With no bets placed yet, and I don't think I will be today, here are my tentative selections from Aintree... 2.00 - Josses Hill 2.30 - Wonderful Charm 3.05 - Wishful Thinking 3.40 - Rebel Rebellion 4.15 - Tagrita 4.50 - Zabana 5.25 - Molly Cat It looks a right ole bookies benefit day today, so its time to borrow the SBC banner and watch from afar... Good luck to all who do play though, as I know a few of you will get a winner or three today, just not me...
