I'm beginning to wonder if the Daily Star has picked us out for special treatment for some reason. First it was Byram (complete with picture of Murphy!), now it's this load of speculative garbage! Note that Cellino has already been quoted as saying that Thompson went for abusing Salerno in front of people. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/435159/EXCLUSIVE-Neil-Redfearn-quit-Leeds-50-000 EXCLUSIVE: Neil Redfearn won't quit Leeds as it'll cost him £50,000 NEIL REDFEARN will not walk out on Leeds - because it could cost him £50,000. He was left fuming last week when assistant boss Steve Thompson was suspended until the end of the season without his knowledge. Redfearn lured Thompson to Leeds from Huddersfield less than three months ago and the duo have proved popular with the squad. But Thompson was axed for "under performing" and told his contract will not be renewed in the summer. To make matters worse club bosses have attempted to stop him from picking Italian striker Mirko Antenucci due to a clause in his contract that states if he scores two more goals to reach 12 for the season he will be entitled to a new £1m deal. please log in to view this image TURMOIL: Massimo Cellino has been a controversial figure at Leeds [GETTY] Chief operating officer Matt Childs quit last week following a bust-up with a senior colleague and rumours persist that Red Bull are plotting a £60m take-over. But Starsport can reveal Redfearn has no intention of walking out on his £200,000-a-year rolling deal because it would have financial implications. Redfearn has a clause in his contract that guarantees him a £50,000 bonus if Leeds finish 12th or better in the Championship. Despite Monday's 4-3 defeat at Wolves, Leeds are in still in 14th place - just two points adrift of 12th. It is understood Redfearn is desperate to achieve his target and pocket the bonus before considering his next move in the summer.
Red tops will spout any ****e they can, prem is a one horse race, No one cares who goes down,, Feck em its all bollox, Lets face it,who would walk away from 50grand,aprt from overpaid prem players I suppose?
Would explain his reluctance to change too much, guess the rumour mill is gathering pace early this time around £50k is quite a chunk for someone likely to be out of a job or at least looking for one.
You may be right about the star and other red tops targeting us. But vultures only circle over the dead and nearly dead. There is some fire behind all this smoke, and Cellino has a big box of matches.
Nope, just the Star. Here's a link to today's Leeds story. Apparently Cook is being chased by 5 PL clubs. AND they've got a 'club source' quoted as saying that Cook knows he has to leave to progress. Bastards. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...l-Chelsea-Man-City-Leeds-sensation-Lewis-Cook
So we're getting 8m for Byram 7m for mowatt, surely cook worth 10 at that rate. We'll definitely be the wealthiest league one team in little over a year
Would it be too cynical to suggest that the source at the club might be someone who is working on selling the club so to justify the asking price is busy inflating interest and value of players.... And too cynical to suggest that this is all happening now to try and finalise the deal as next week the next court case begins and so Massivego might find himself a distressed seller if(when) he loses...
