Oh, OK Ron, I'll give it a go. Racing today is from York, Sandown Park, Chester, Bath, Hexham, Leicester, Lingfield Park, Limerick. Please post your naps, and with any luck, they'll be posted below later on.................. Naps: Ron: 15:30 Sandown - Dinkum Diamond (2nd - 9/2). NassauBoard: 14:55 Sandown - The Confessor (3rd - 7/1). Cyclonic111: 15:30 Sandown - Ahtoug e/w Thanks Nassau for the excellent write-up, now re-reading it! You know, Sandown was always a good track for talented front runners in the old days? Not sure if it's still that way?...
I'm restricting my selections to Sandown today 13.55 VOODOO PRINCE 14.25 SOUND AMIGO 15.30 DINKUM DIAMOND (nap) Good luck all.
As posted on Utd_19s off to Sandown thread 1.55 - very interesting 3 year old handicap in which we have lots of maiden form to consider, I would love Voodoo Prince to win (being the first foal of Ouija Board) but he probably will be short in the market and others have good claims too. Memorabilia may be very hard to pass if going in the customary Mark Johnston way (make all). I would have a saver on that one with a win bet on whichever of the maiden winners looks the nicest in the ring. 2.25 - Similar to the first race, its a 3 year old handicap which could have some very well handicapped horses in it, perhaps the most obvious would be Anoint who is from powerful connections (related to Penitent) and he is drawn low (key at Sandown). Wiqaaya is obviously of interest but I can't back Hills in a race like this. Tough handicap. 2.55 - Open age handicap, more form to go on and a more interesting race for me. The Confessor is the type of horse that Candy does so well with, and its normally hard for a horse at three to win as prolifically as he did. Candy knows how to get horses to progress with racing and I expect this one to be better than its mark this season, will it be on seasonal reappearance though? I like that its a front runner drawn low, if he gets out and grabs the rail he could be hard to pass here. If you want another that could be a price I would say Mahadee is potentially very interesting despite duck eggs next to his name. A repeat of his Doncaster 'win' performance would be very hard to beat. 3.30 Listed race for 3 year olds, and a fascinating sprint it is too, with Margot Did(n't) running again. She is a good enough horse to win a race like this, but I bet it finds more trouble than Joey Barton on a night out! Move In Time is a horse I have a lot of time for, and I think he is more than capable of winning this. I think Smart will ask the jockey to race him prominently and if he gets the rail he could be tough to beat. Night Carnation is the one they all have to beat though, whilst Dinkum Diamond is the typical Candy type and could easily be good enough. 4.05 A poor race by Sandown standards but Sharpened Edge goes for a follow up of his course and distance win last time out, he has the draw to do so here. The race revolves around him. I think he will win. 4.40 Maiden with some very big connections with runners, Polperro is the one they have to beat on form but most of these are open to a good deal of improvement. I wouldn't be betting in the race. 5.15 Lucky last over 1m6f where I really like Regal Park, this horse was drawn in the carpark at Chester and never got into the race, but that run should put him spot on for this race and I think he is open to a major amount of improvement. He is a dour stayer but also has some timefigures that suggest that he isn't as slow as he looks. I think he is the one to be with. I also fancy Cape To Rio in the big sprint handicap at York and at 25/1 I am happy to take that. However its Chester that has two of my best bets - 2.45 Courtland King - ran a good race behind Gabriel at this track and now has a plum draw against what probably is a lesser field - 5/1 is too big 5.05 Lord Avon - A front runner drawn in stall 1, not brilliantly handicapped but has form in the book and been running well recently. I like how game he is - 13/2 is too big too Two singles and an EW double Nap today is The Confessor
Good afternoon everyone, seems like the bookies are geared up today to take everyone's money. Like trying to find a needle in a hay stack. If you follow any of my tips I would advise to back very little money between 0.1pt to 0.5pt on my selections. More of testing the waters than any strong fancies. Afternoon gentlemen. Thanks for the DT Filon. The Listed Scurry Stakes at Sandown looks a very nice race. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few of these go on to bigger and better things in the next year or two. The one that takes my eye here is the Al Zarooni horse Ahtoug. Heavily packed last time out, he missed the start and was badly hampered. He still proved to be too strong. He could be a handy one. Sandown. 15:30 Ahtoug. EW nap. P.S. I don't know why it is, but when I post the thread, I get "surprised" twice, even though it's been written just once. For some reason, it can't be edited out.
Will update the results in this post for my selections: 2.10 Inspirinia 25/1 - 2nd darn almost won, just pipped on the line. had over 40/1 on betfair... 3.15 Acclamazing SP 8/1 - 2nd again! 3.15 Madany 20/1 - unplaced 3.30 Move in Time 6/1 - 3rd placed 4.00 Brandywell Boy 9/2 - unplaced 4.05 Sharpened Edge 4/1 - unplaced 5.15 Red Courter 12/1 - 4th unplaced / placed on betfair, a lot of trouble in running. Keep an eye out next time. 5.30 Steelcut 20/1 - unplaced 5.40 Princess Lexi 11/2 - unplaced The only thing I got right is the bookies would make a packet.
Filon, I still think Sandown is a course for the front runners, but that is more so when they go far side and those at the front are able to grab that rail. Deity tried to do so in the second and was very unlucky that the ground was perhaps too soft for it. I am a bit annoyed that I looked at the races before the ground got so soft.
what a farce, well done SDS on the winner but why lose all chance with my nap by bringing it to the other side? Shortest route people.
Nassau:.......hoping your selection in the last at Sandown, Regal Park, will go well.......don't see why not. Nicely bred for the job!
At last - Lord Avon makes my day Somehow I will be nicely up if the one at Sandown wins - not sure how that will happen if it does!!
Regal Park 2nd and looked the winner for a long way, shame but at least the money comes back to the bank. Somehow got out of the day without damage. Also had a good bet on Meehan's 2yo superstar after watching the videos back.
Well well, can't believe he lost. Just seemed to stop when he got to the front. Oh well, tough luck that! Did OK today as managed a couple at Hexham, including the first race winner. Not so bad!
well done! Always tough to do well on a Saturday. Have a couple of quid on the Meehan filly!!! You know you want to!
Nassau: Yes, think I will. Will dutch with the bottom one Mazovian, with a R/F too! Dream on...............
Nassau: Well, that was a bit of luck. Thought you meant Catfish at Leicester. Good grief, had her in a R/F with Mazovian, plus the dutching. I'm rich!.............. (Godda get lucky once in a while?).....
