As the DT is a no show so far, I'll whack it up. (what a thought) Just Plumpton and Wolverhampton today.

PLUMPTON.
13:10 Specialagent Alfie. Striker. Third 4-1.
13:40 Chariot Charger. cyc. NR.
14:40 Regal Brook. Swanny.

WOLVERHAMPTON.

This steam cleaner will get into all the little crooks and all the little nannies.

I am guessing the NH card has gone today?

2.55 Free bet time - Very First Blade - like its course run, best form on offer for me and if it sits prominent I can see it winning if fit enough. 9/1

Just goes to show you what 2 YO form can be worth - the 2008 Grand Criterium winner Zafisio goes in the opening novice hurdle at Plumpton today. He may well have to play second fiddle to Alan King's Henry San who finished a decent second behind Double Ross last time out. Emma Lavelle had a desperate weekend and you'd wish her a winner today but I think Owen Glendower will have too much for Chariot Charger. Goring Two should score again dropped in class.

Just fancies mind as the no bet banner is out today <ok>

Morning, one and all. Cor blimey its cold this morn. A real icy feel to the old proceedings. Plumpton’s on today though. Although 2 out of 3 of tomorrow’s cards face inspections already

Meanwhile, I see that the ‘Racing Post’ are banner headlining the fact the tomorrow Pricewise are previewing and tipping in the Champion Chase. There seems to be a micro market around these days re who he will tip ante-post and then a plunge on the horse once it becomes known. I’m a bit in the dark about who the old boy will plump for but perhaps Finian’s Rainbow at 7/1 or Hold Fast at 33/1??? Not really sure. Anyone got any firm views what his ‘value’ pick will be???

Sounds more positive Chesney.
Assuming it goes ahead ther opener is a fascinating race:
Some very decent horses from the level, none more so than the once 115 rated Zafisio, not sure Plumpton has seen a horse of that calibre for a while, though it seems this one may have fallen out of love with the game.
I'll take a chance on the NH bred Bhakti who has shown some ability in two bumpers to date, the yard is woefully out of form which is a worry but Tom Scu takes the ride and at around 10/1 this one is nice each way value for me.
Good luck

Barney it should be Sizing Europe but he will probably go for something running on through beaten horses at a big price. Gauvain perhaps?

I was quite fancying Gauvain for a crack at the Ryanair Nass. Did it really well in the Peterborough and I think he is more effective over a longer trip these days.

Glad to see I’ve brought a smile to your face, RV. I seriously like Hold Fast though thought he did it well at Sandown Park last weekend and Mr Nicholls seems to have worked the oracle re this one. Goes to Donny in 12 days time for the rich 2 mile handicap and how he fares there will determine whether connections stick to handicapping or progress to the ‘top table’. I think there are a lot worse 33/1 shots at the Festival than him.

This year’s Champion Chase though is a ‘last hurrah’ for so many because next year of course Sprinter Sacre will be on the scene!

Sorry Malcolm.

Anyway, anyone who can pick a winner of the 2.55 and back it on bet365 would deserve to qualify for their free bet scheme. All of them look set to contest last place, with the least worst winning it somehow. Dire race.

I could see old Pricewise tipping up Al Ferof for the Champion Chase. There are very few horses you could give a serious chance to and Al Ferof is one of them and still available at 14/1 which feels like decent value to me.

SBC I don't think he is good enough for a champion chase. He beat nothing at Sandown and was the best handicapped horse in the race through the form line of Tanks For That and Riliyev. He is decent but just not for me, will be happy to be proved wrong though as it would be great for the Wylies.

As for you Will McKenzie go and study the 2.55
