Racig today comes from Newcastle, Bath, Fakenfam, Catterick, Exeter, Punchestown.

Big time racing today belongs to Punchestown, with 3G1 events on the Hunt program. The Champion Chase draws but a field of 6, but it's choc full of class. Sizing Europe, the winner of the Queen Mother, over Big Zed, looks to have the wood on him again. At about 7-4, he appears to offer a bit of value.

Nice to see the latest Aussie star So You Think win in the UK yesterday.

    Newcastle. Good to firm.
    2.10. CHOISAN. Ron. Second 2-1.
    4.15. ADLINGTON. Eez. second 11-4.
5.20. BOCTUNE PAPA GIO. Heisenburg. Third 4-1.

    Bath. Firm.

    Fakenham. Good to firm.

    Catterick. Good to firm.

    Exeter. Firm.

    Punchestown.
    4.20 OILILY. Utter. Unplaced.
5.30 SIZING EUROPE. cyc. Second 11-8.

    Morning,

jeez, can't remember the last time I saw a decently priced betting opportunity.

I'll go for Adlington win in the 4.15 at Newcastle (currently 11/4).

    cheers.

How many brewers does it take to change a light bulb?

One third less than a regular bulb!

Q: How many women with PMS does it take to change a light bulb?

A: One. Only ONE!! And do you know WHY it only takes ONE? Because no one
else in this house knows HOW to change a light bulb. They don't even
know the bulb is BURNED OUT. They would sit in this house in the
dark for THREE DAYS before they figured it OUT. And once they figured it
out they wouldn't be able to find the light bulbs despite the fact
that they've been in the SAME CUPBOARD for the past SEVENTEEN YEARS. But
if they did, by some miracle, actually find the light bulbs, TWO DAYS
LATER the chair that they dragged from two rooms over to stand on
to change the STUPID light bulb would STILL BE IN THE SAME SPOT!! AND
UNDERNEATH IT WOULD BE THE CRUMPLED WRAPPER THE STUPID @*!#$% LIGHT
BULBS CAME IN! WHY?! BECAUSE NO ONE IN THIS HOUSE EVER CARRIES OUT
THE GARBAGE!! IT'S A WONDER WE HAVEN'T ALL SUFFOCATED FROM THE PILES
OF GARBAGE THAT ARE 12 FEET DEEP THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE. THE
HOUSE!! IT WOULD TAKE AN ARMY TO CLEAN THIS... I'm sorry...what did
    you ask me?

Q: How many Scottish historians does it take to change a lightbulb.

A: All of them, because they are sick of living under the shadow of
    England for so long.

    Some cracking racing at Punchestown

In the 16.55 I really like Nearest The Pin. He has been hiked 10lb in the weights but he won with ease on good ground last time after showing some promise last year on softer ground.
In the 18.40 I was going for Quito de la Roque then saw Loosen My Load was in the same race and would hate to go against him.

Best race of the day should be won by Sizing Europe but when Cheltenham horses re-oppose on a different track anything could happen so I'll leave that race alone

In the end I have decided to look elsewhere and have settled for:

Newcastle 14.10 Choisan (nap). Slight worry about the jockey but I'll take a chance

Even though we have pretentious, hippy twat Neil Oliver on our side, the Scottish historians will never be overshadowed by their English counterparts while you have the ridiculous David Starkey on your team. <ok>

The Romans counted the years from the creation date of Rome and imposed that system on all the lands they conquered.

The ancient Greek system was a bit of a shambles. There were different systems in different city-states.

So all the countries that the Romans didn't conquer didn't know what day it was? Any thoughts on how they made arrangements?

Carn staggie, have a shot. Pick a race, any race...then a number, stick a note on it, and sit back and get really angry like the rest of us. <laugh>
