Good evening all got some fancies in the UK tomorrow but will wait for the prices in the morning before putting them up as I have got a feeling a few may well be too short. The prices are available though on the Breeders Cup races and I am going for the following 8.10 Secret Circle - EVENS - Has looked very impressive in two starts so far and everyone seems to think this is going to be a superstar sprinter. Evens seems a fair price after reading the form guides he shouldn't be getting beat. 8.50 UP -10-1 E.W - A decent race this for which Elusive Kate currently heads the market for John Gosden. She won the Marcel Boussac in good style to win her 4th race in a row. She looks good and sets a decent standard but I am a big fan of UP, she has a lot to do on the form book but I don't believe O'Brien would send her here without thinking she has leading claims. She travelled like the best filly in the race on debut at the Curragh but weakened right out of things to finish only 11th suggesting she needed the run. She then went on to land a massive gamble at Dundalk last time out and I am hopeful she has the improvement needed to run a big race here. 10.10 MY MISS AURELIA 5-2 - Don't know a lot about every contender in this race but have seen some replays and My Miss Aurelia looked a beast when smashing the field in the Frizette Stakes. That is good form and she could be hard to beat here. 10.50 MISTY FOR ME 9/1 NAP - I am really confident that Misty For Me will win tomorrow I do rate the first four in the betting, but I honestly think this filly is special on her day and she has been given time to freshen up following a below par run in the Matron stakes last time out. That was over 1m which may well have been to short. I think the BC has been the target for some time and I will be disappointed if she isn't right there at the finish. 11.30 IT'S TRICKY 7/1 - I am going for a bit of value in this race with It's Tricky as a line through the current fav Plum Pretty, she smashed the selection by 7 lengths last time out but had a good run all the way around. It's Tricky on the other hand was bumped badly before staying on well without ever threatening the winner. This Godolphin owned 3yo filly had previously beaten the fav back in July. Royal Delta has also had the better of the selction in the past and must enter calculations but I do feel if It's Tricky runs up to her best she should go close tomorrow.
RV good evening/morning on call so wont be about in morning Everard & Cool Doctor (Hex) will both be trying, cant say much more than that both EW price Stay Frosty
Evening RV, just wondering if you thought it might be worth having a separate 'BREEDERS CUP: Live" thread where all of the US action can have its own proper focus in the evening? I was thinking of posting one tomorrow at about 6pm but I'd like you to have your selections as the first post (as you have begun the thread here). We had one last year on BBC 606 and I think it worked really nicely. No worries if you don't think it's worth it though!
Todays lay bets: http://betfairlayking.weebly.com/index.html A really tough call to put the record on the line in the Breeders Cup meeting tomorrow evening.
I agree with RV about Misty For Me and if the wide draw doesn't prove to big a hindrance I can see her running a massive race 12.30 Ffos Llas Lycidas FC 10/1 (hopefully at least double this) I like the look of Tobias Coles' 2 year old debutant in the shape of Lycidas who holds and entry for the Irish 2,000 Guineas next year - only one in the field with any entry of note. A €75,000 purchase, this colt looks quite nicely bred and is certainly a likely type on paper. He represents Coles' only runner of the day and its the trainer's first visit to Ffos Llas. Currently 34s on betfair Lycidas was a non runner on the 28th of October in a Class 4 and tomorrow is a Class 5. He represents Stevie Donohue's only ride at Ffos Llas, while the track is about a 550 mile round trip for Coles and Donohue has a 183 mile trip from Ffos Las to Wolves where he has 2 rides in the evening. Betting will likely be a strong indicator of his chances but I think he can certainly run well at a nice price
Oscar's Well makes his long awaited reappearance at Down Royal today (2.05). For my money, he hadn't been asked a question and would have won the Neptune at the Festival- bar an unlucky slip on landing over the last. However, today's race is a very tough ask for his seasonal debut. The Real Article is a useful animal and slaughtered Luska Lad last time. However, I see Kalann as the main danger. The 4 year old was impressive last time at Cheltenham , on the basis of which he was upgraded to a rating of 146 for the forthcoming Greatwood Hurdle. His mark here is only 140- which means Oscar's Well will need to run to a mark of near 160 to give him 11 lbs in today's race; quite a lot to ask first time out! Nonetheless, he will need to win here if he is to mount any sort of challenge to Hurricane Fly's crown. If he does win impressively, he'll become a firm second favourite for the Champion Hurdle -and current 16/1 ante post for Cheltenham will look attractive. Definitely a race to watch today. For those who fancy him, 15/8 is available with Paddy Power- not too much confidence behind him at that price. A safer bet should be Aland Islands (3.10 Hexham) . Richard Johnson takes the mount for Tim Vaughan and the 11/8 Betfair should be taken.
FONTWELL 1.20 TROP FORT 5.1 (BETFAIR) 3/1 Is expected to win this race today after competing in some top races last season. Good Luck
Too tough for me today, no bets. Bus was interesting as usual, but today I was so tired that I fell asleep. Amazingly no one bothered to draw on me. Its not like the good old days.
Morning all. Glad Gallop has put up Trop Fort as I really fancy that one today. Also been looking for Chelts prices for IPSOS DU BURLAIS who makes his hurdling debut at Down Royal today, he looked special last time out when winning his bumper. Had no look finding any though and can't back him today at 1/2 1.20 Fontwell - TROP FORT 3/1 (BOG) Surprised 3/1 is available for this David Pipe runner this morning. Purchased from France after 2 bumper wins this 4yo was going to give Brampour something to think about before falling at the last on his debut for David Pipe. He then looked out of his depth when contesting the Triumph hurdle and the same applied on his reappearance in Persian War novices hurdle. He takes a big drop in class today and should take some stopping.
Many of the Hendo fans will be happy with this tweet from Richie Killoran Schooling morning at 7 Barrows, all went really well my favourite though without doubt was Bobs Worth.Awesome for the 1st time over fences!
Hello lads. Nothing really excites today but I'm gonna have a few bob on Four Commanders in the 3.05 at DR.He is a full brother to Kicking King and although on all form to date it seems unlikely he possesses his siblings ability,he is a nice sort who looks like making a decent chaser. He was easily held on his seasonal bow, staying on after being hampered and blowing up four fences out. This is by no means unusual for a Michael Morris runner first time up and he will strip a lot fitter today. This is a decent little race but in the hope that FC continues to improve, the 5/2 on offer looks fair enough. Also interesting to see if there is any money for the beautifully bred Reaching in the opener at Dundalk. She is a close relative of the excellent Peeping Fawn and since that one didn't debut until three and take quite a while for the penny to drop,it is likely this one may also be a long term prospect. GL all..I'm off to N.I. for the JNCC and a few scoops no doubt...might even take in the MTV awards if I win a few bob and lie about my age.. Hasta Lunes.
Barney's banner out for me today, but am VERY interested in The Nightingale for the JN Wine Chase tomorrow - he looked right at home when winning on this card last season.
Trader Jack is a bet at 6-5 in the opener. Thought he would be 1/2 Odddy I have always been a big fan of that one mate but really don't understand why Sizing Europe is 9-2 that is a massive price. Perhaps they don't think he will stay 3m
Lycidas went off an insane 33/1 and ran an encouraging debut to finished 2nd. I'll take that all day!
