Newmarket

2.15 - I Love Me 15/8
4.00 - Lilbourne Lad 11/8

Newbury

3.45 - Dick Turpin (Nap) 7/2

I feel Canford may need a run on his stablemate before reversing form if he will do this season. Twice Over should set the pace but I don't think he will have enough speed to see off the Hannon duo

My treble of the day

I'm only a part time flat racing spectactor but the one horse I enjoyed last year was Canford Cliffs. Lack of recent run is slight concer, (added to fact that his stablemate turned him over first time out last year) but I've backed him and expect him to oblige. He will be the only bet of the day for me. Good luck all <ok>

Was thinking about the straight FC with Canford Cliffs... Damn.

DT really put me off doing the FC but fancied CC strongly.

lol, I looked at both races and thought far too competitive. I left those races alone... I look forward to your selections next time. Don't think I'll be backing anymore until some big races turns up. I'm sure you'll be napping winners soon. You seem very knowledgeable.

I expected a hell a lot more from Dominant which was very disappointing. I spent many hours deciding between CC and DT then it eventually clicked lol

Cheers SimplytheBlues! Yes Canford done it nicely, as discussed on another thread for some reason I'd, just, give him marginal preference over even the mighty Frankel. That was always my opinion even after 2000 Guineas, today simply proved his wellbeing and that he has trained on. Good to hear he has developed as well, he will be hard to beat over a mile this year. Ah well with these good flat horses around at least the summer Saturdays will provide some decent action whilst I await my passion, the jumping horses!

Frankel setting an almighty clip in front with Canford Cliffs behind him, that would be some spectacle! Now if Frankel got Canford off the bridle a la the Guineas, then yes sir without doubt he can become a 'great'. An overused word but he might just earn it.

Very interesting opinion.

I still feel there is nothing out there to beat Frankel.

I don’t know if Frankel is suited to further than a mile. IMHO I think 7f/1m is optimal. If he ran the way he did at 7f nothing would even get close and could have won by 10L+… Time will tell us more… Lets not forgot against a field of group 1s. I can't see CC doing that against the same field.

I feel if the two clashed Frankel will go out at a blistering pace where even the mighty CC will struggle to keep pace and take too much out of CC. Some strange results may appear for the minor places.

On a different note still a very good week. I now have to wait til next Saturday for some decent racing and betting. lol
