the shrews travel to dagenham on saturday who today achieved their sixth defeat in 6 games losing to the gas 0-2. in addition the daggers have lost 1-3 at crawley, 2-5 at home to shots, 2-3 at home to plymouth, 1-2 at home to chelt and 1-3 at home to southend. meanwhile town have had 2 indifferent home games against accrington and the wombles. town need 3 points at daggers but may have to settle for 1 in another 0-0 inept performance. prove me wrong shrews, the only midweek game is shots v brewers on tuesday. it is apparent towns puny gd of 4 may remain unchanged next week unless the shrews allow the daggers to something special, er like win!!
time for an autumnal bonding at fairbourne methinks. a good run to dolgellau should blow ant cobwebs away and prepare gornell, collins, taylor and richards amongst others for the task in hand next saturday of wondering where town's next goal is coming from and just who is going to nick it. we have a squad capable of goalfests. it is a brave man who can forcast when that might be. which side of christmas. the other thing exercising the squad's minds is who will town draw at 13.30 tomorrow on itv, in the cup. blyth spartans away? oh gawd here we go again, rowland pass your genuine port around please and change that ruddy awful lenny the lion badge
a nice 2-0 win to shots against burton, takes a little pressure off the shrews. a win for town on saturday would be like a double diamond, it will work wonders. now if town cannot beat third from bottom teams away, what are we doing in the top 7. no pressures uncle graham, just return with 3 points. floreat salopia, come on you shrews, breathe on 'em
Must win game for Shrewsbury Dagenham 1 Redbridge 1 Shrewsbury 1 (Scorer William Wallace) Attendance-2345
Tough call, Shrews are very good at helping out floundering teams... plus it is a narrow pitch (70 yards) which means less space for wingers, oh and they lump it forward. All signs look troublesome for town, but forever positive Shrewsbury 3 v 2 Dagenham Collins Gornell Wallace Att: 2500
Dag&Red 0 Town 2 Marvin 2 att 1500 Dag & Red havent won in six games so i think this will be an easy steal!!
There'll be a late kick off due to traffic congestion, me thinks. Anyway, I have a funny feeling we'll be huffing & puffing all afternoon. 1-1 (with us equalising in the last ten mins).
----------------alteration to score prediction------------------ daggers 0 shrews 2 collins, gornell att 2122
What's with our predictors today? Tinned Hats has the suspended Marvin scoring two and now Kasule has a three-way draw - and I'm assuming he's deliberately turned our new acquisition into a Scotsman! There was an experiment I believe with three-sided football, the idea being that two teams could form an alliance to beat the third - but of course alliances could be switched, there could be double dealing etc. Anyway, I don't think it worked - how confusing would that have been to watch!? But if it comes to a three-sided game, I'd bet on the treacherous Redbridge to ally with Dagenham against the noble Shrews, so couldn't see a 1-1-1 outcome.
welcome back jenny! town have been absolute sh*te whilst you have been away. now the shrews are motoring. it is rumoured that uncle rowland is taking a bottle of his special port to help the daggers chairman get over his disapointment. i am slowly getting the vibes of an away goal fest week, tomorrow
The Shrewsbury-Scottish Wallace connection. Those old enough to remember will recall Joe Wallace who made hundreds of appearances for Shrewsbury in the mid to late 1950's. The half back line (there was such a thing in those days, jumpers for goalposts etc) of Wallace, Maloney and Walters had a reassuring ring to it.
well played 10 man shrews. job done gd up from 4 to 6. well scored gornell and collins. town played for 65 mins with 10 men. bring on newport! floreat salopia
Well done to town, sounded a good game. Shame Wallace got a red, lets hope there's case for appeal as it sounded as if no contact was made. I hope we get to see him play.
I think he caught the D & R player on the foot. Having said that, if the foul had been committed against us I would have been surprised had the opposing player been sent off. Deadman seems to be a pig headed ref (Shrewsbury goalkeeper's face smashed by Richards. Ring any bells) and I cannot see him being persuaded to change his mind.
