Here we go with the lowdown ahead of Saturday's game Last 6 games Daggers: 2-3-1 â 5-5 â 9 (10th) Pompey: 2-1-3 â 4-8 â 7 (16th) Daggers at home 1-3-2 â 3-5 â 6 (20th) Pompey away 1-2-3 â 5-13 â 5 (19th) Daggers v bottom half 20 â 6-8-6 â 1.30p/g (21st) Home only 10 â 3-4-3 â 1.30p/g (18th) Pompey v top half 21 â 4-6-11 â 0.86p/g (18th) Away only 10 â 1-4-5 â 0.70p/g (17th) So basically the Daggers are crap against sides in the bottom half and we are crap against sides in the top half! Reverse fixture â 26/12 Pompey 1-0 Daggers Skybet odds Daggers 6/4 Pompey 7/4 Draw 23/10
A draw could be likely. Bristol have Torquay at home which could go either way. The Gulls might as well go for broke and could sneak a win. Northampton have Burton at home and will find that tough going. We could be a little better off by tomorrow evening.
The Dagger's form recently has been hit and miss - their last six games being D-W-D-D-W-L - and their home form has been decent - their last six home games being L-L-D-D-D-W. It's another winnable game for us I think but a draw would be a good result.
Very much hope for a win, and another 3 points towards safety. Awfs has created a winning/fighting mentality within the squad, and we have played some very nice football in the last couple of games - unlike what we ever saw from teams put out by that muppet Barker. Agree a draw would be o.k., but as 3rd eye said above, we are on a winning run, and that breeds confidence. PUP
Portsmouth 40 Carson 03 N'Gala 36 Whatmough 16 Ferry 15 Alfei 17 Shorey 11 Holmes 29 Hollands 28 Drennan 20 Taylor 35 Wallace Substitutes 01 Smith 05 Devera 06 Bradley 13 Ertl 23 Agyemang 31 Racon 33 McCabe No Wes Fogden, which is a real shame after his excellent performance last Saturday. No Adam Webster either - don't know if he is injured, or whether this is tactical. I would rather see him at Right Back ahead of Daniel Alfei. PUP
Both sets of fans observe the minutes silence impeccably. Kick off, and Michael Drennan immediately goes close with a shot just over the bar. Then a Rickie Holmes corner, and Danny Hollands hits the post with a header. Looks like we have started well
Pompey 1-0 up after 3 minutes. Danny Hollands scores his first Pompey goal after a header from Jack Watmough. Unbelievable start - keep it up lads
Retweeted by PompeyNewsNow™ Dagenham & Redbridge ‏@9men 1m Pompey tempo is very high indeed. We aren't at the races.
Daggers making a substitution already. Bringing on Lawson D'Ath for Luke Norris. Sounds like D'Ath has been brought on to mark Jed Wallace who is causing them problems. Keep it up Pompey.
Blues News ‏@BluesNews_ 48s Tom: Dagenham have already made a tactical substitution in order to deal with Jed Wallace
BBC Sport are reporting that Michael Drennan scored our first goal, not Danny Hollands ?! We have had 6 shots, with 3 on target, scoring twice. Daggers have had one shot - not on target.
Simon Ferry limping, and coming off to be replaced by Rhys McCabe. Shame that, he was playing so well.
