Might be a good time to get Thudd onto the ball outside their penalty area to welcome him to the PL with a few Thudd specials.
It was just one mistake in one game. I hope our players don't look at this and become too complacent on Monday.
If they do they're bloody stupid. Rooney was looking near his best and I can see Young tearing Charlie to shreds. On the plus side they have a lot of injuries in defence so we might be able to nick a couple of goals.
I agree. Judging him now is way too premature. Gomes, on the other hand, has had plenty of time to settle - and still looks like a clown.
We need to really get at him. His confidence must be rocking at the moment, so we need to take advantage of it. With Ferdinand, Vidic and Rafael injured, we really have a great opportunity. Can't say that I agree with you about Young and Corluka, SF. Remember when Redknapp picked Zokora at right back against Villa in '09 to deal with Young's pace? He took him to the cleaners for 35 minutes. Then Corluka came on and that was the end of Young. Totally shut him out. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/7922077.stm We've still got to play Hearts first and I hope that the team and manager are focused on that game.
Jordan has said that we are out to win the EL so they will be focussed on it. I think we are in for a tough time up there.
Solid, he was awful in the Charity Shield too mate, MOTD2 did a little montage of his other errors that didn't result in a goal, but could well have on another day...he's dodgy! I feel he could be very nervous on his first home game against us.
Be interesting to see how Man Utd line up at the back, if their injury problems are as bad as they're claiming. Maybe we could sell them Hutton?
I never get my hopes up for OT!, but Jones and Smalling in front of a nervous keeper is good for us I'd say.
Jones and Smalling are both good defenders, if a little inexperienced. Who are they going to play at right-back though, Fabio? Could be a very young defensive unit.
Before we get too excited, let's not forget that our "strikeforce" (Which we can only pray is added to before Monday) Misfired against much worse defences than that, last season.
Oh, I'm not expecting some kind of walkover, NSIS. It'll still be a very, very tough game, especially as a league opener for us. Maybe we'll have signed a new striker by then? Don't hold your breath though, eh?
Good players individually I agree, but as I said, no overexpectation from me, but any slight weak point gives a small ray of hope of getting something from the game up there.
De Gea will struggle to win over people now, when the pundits and media see a weakness in a player they usually pounce on it and then highlight every little mistake the keeper makes. I just hope for De Gea's sake he doesn't watch SSN or read red-tops as they have buried this weekend. Utd away with a referee on their side is always a place I expect nothing than a defeat.
High balls cured in a week??? whatever!...what about not getting down quick enough to 2 powder puff shots?
That goal he conceded yesterday was terrible, for Atletico he was the same, good at close up shots but not so great at long range shots.
If Harry thinks it will get results, you can bet on seeing lots of high balls to Crouch, with VDV lurking. Assuming Bambi isn't playing for Stoke next week, that is.
He thought the same about Taibi. I think that you'll find that Utd find hiding behind the ref to be the best form of defence at Old Trafford, too. Who's Ferguson hand-picked this time?
