The... This is Devon Website... claim that John Ward 61 years old is the favourite for Plymouth's Director of Football position.

He was a striker in his playing career and played for Lincoln (twice),Workington (on loan),Watford and Grimsby....spending most of his time at Lincoln.

He has managed....York,Bristol C,Bristol R,Wolves (caretaker four games),Cheltenham,Carlisle and Colchester. He was sacked from Colchester, his last job,for failing to win any of their first 8 games this season.

Underwhelmed is what comes to mind having read the above.......I hope that it isn't true.......even Carl Fletcher needs better than that.

What comes to mind is that........candidates are not quite fighting each other to form an orderly queue to apply for the job.......depression like a dark heavy cloud is settling over Home Park........and it just seems to be being sucked down inch by inch with know sign of an answer.

PS.........just pulled the curtains back....and to add to the delights of the day.....it's snowing...about an inch at present....but it looks like a lot more will fall.....if it ain't the football it's the damn weather !!!

Is that a man inch or a real inch plym with the snow. It is different. A man inch would cover your ankle whereas a real inch would cover the sole of your shoe.

I lost the will to live as far as this season is concerned plym so I will just stand by the comment that anyone, and I mean anyone would be better than Fletcher.

Hey come on sensible.......it's not life or death.......it's only football......well with Argyle it ain't even that.......it's just the Brent & Fletcher love in.

Come 1130 the snow had melted.......didn't expect it in the first place.......multi-million pounds of equipment and they didn't predict it around here........I wonder if they could do any better than us predicting DIV 2 results ?

I think you have that the wrong way around Sensible.

Man-inches are SMALLER than regular ones so that any given length equates mentally to a larger number of inches. Ask any woman.

On the likelihood and volume of snow on the other hand, women misjudge statistics affected by equally massive percentages. A weather forecast of "light snow showers in the Northwest Highlands" always sends my two into paroxysms of excitement wherever they happen to be. One has the excuse of being only 10, the other I can't explain.

I think I did notdistant but at my age measurments aren't that important anymore...........and I get easily confused.

I remember doing a Rememberance Day ceremony when I did my training in HMS Pembroke back in 65. It was so F in freezing that the Chief GI had to take the rifles off us on return because we couldn't even straighten out our arms. That was in the days when a rifle was 4 foot long and weighed in at a ton and a half. The Cenotaph in Chatham is right on top of the cliffs in memory serves and we had to march from the barracks all the way up to the place and back again. The snow was everywhere as well. I was only 16 and it took we a week to thaw out. I have been to Kent several times in my Naval career and it has snowed every year. Unlike Plymouth where it snows about every 5 years on average.
