http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12016_6732976,00.html What has Capello got against us?? Darren Bent has not improved as a player since last year (as proved by this match on now). He's been half the player he was last season and yet he's now Fabio's golden boy. The only thing that has changed since the last few England games are the people who pay his wages. I for one can't wait to see what happens when his form dips and Agbonlahor picks up for Villa. I know this article sounds bitter but England will never amount to anything under Capello and I think along with many Sunderland fans I hope Ghana give them a good thrashing next month
Well this is more like a gut reaction than a considered statement but I hope Judas gets dropped he is a mercenary b***ard and I am very suspicious of the role of Fabio in his departure from safc. To be honest even without the Judas affair I would have been happy for Fabio to go - he is clearly not the right man for the England job.
Only Gareth Southgate been any where near truthful about Bent. Saying he has done nothing apart from the tap in. Lets not mention the misses that any other half decent striker would have buried. They are saying England were comfortably in charge???? When they were saying it, Denmark had kept the ball off us for 5 minutes! We played well at times, ball put on a plate for Bent he fluffed them. That is the same Bent that played for us the last few months, so it wasn't because he wanted away, it was because he is ****E!
As far as I could tell, he played the same way he did for us where he wasn't even considered good enough for the England squad, now he's left us and gone to Villa he's now the great hope for English football. Near enough first choice striker and now the media golden boy, loved by pundits and 'experts' alike, it's a mad, mad world.
I hope we stuff Ghana to be honest and wont mind one bit if Bent got a hat-trick, England Till I die!!!!!
"I am very suspicious of the role of Fabio in his departure from safc. " Spot on ExSeahamlad I am of the same frame of mind - I wonder if the old school of Capello/Houlier has been at work here and to listen to Townsend tonight was unbelievable " Darren Bent made a good run there..etc,etc" ffs
Darren Bent has not improved as a player since last year (as proved by this match on now). He's been half the player he was last season and yet he's now Fabio's golden boy. The only thing that has changed since the last few England games are the people who pay his wages. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ In fact, Capello said Bent was integral to England's future straight after the Switzerland game - and he was still a Sunderland player then. The F.A.'s disregard for Sunderland (and Newcastle) is a long term thing, rather than just a quirk of Capello. It's always been that way. Brilliant legends like Shackleton and Milburn only got about a dozen caps between them. More recently, Phillips only got 20 minutes here, 35 minutes there - never a fair chance. Bent tonight? - Well, he got a three yard tap in, just like the three yards tap ins we were all cheering last season. Unfortunately, now he's not a Sunderland player, the three yard tap ins have suddenly become a bad thing. Hmm. Well, I'm sorry, but I look at the score sheet and it looks every bit as good as a thirty yard screamer - it's a goal, it's what Darren Bent does wherever he goes. I thought Capello's decision to leave Bent at home in summer was diabolical. The lad deserved to go. But, he's got his chance now, and two goals in two games proves it's the right decision. Congratulations to him - much as I was hurt when he left Sunderland, to say anything less would be grossly unfair. Darren Bent's got his England shirt - and it's bloody long overdue.
Only a friendly, lets see what Capfellow comes up with when we play a real game, one that matters. he like Barren Dent will just keep picking up the dosh. end of realy.
