I made the horrifying mistake of visiting General Chat only to discover that you have apparently quit as Super Mod!! If this is actually the case, I would like to extend my thanks (from me and no doubt the majority of the members on here) for your service towards all of us. You were a canny mod and not half bad for a mackem (had to put something like that in there)

If I am wrong and you have not quit or someone has already written about this then feel free to ignore my post

I've asked Mick to see if he's open to setting up another General Chat so us folk can have decent, non-abusive, non-offensive chat. Hasn't messaged me back yet though.

 

I PM'd him asking for it to be closed so all those sick heads can go away & infest another site.

Only problem with that is, they could potentially come over to the busier forums (us and you) and spout their vitriol here!

 

That would be my preferred option. Think Mick's trying to keep both sides happy though. At least with two separate GCs them lot can carry on posting their ****e and other members can have decent discussions.

As much as I like the people on the Newcastle board, I feel a bit restricted to it. I'd love to be able to interact with people from other boards and chat about things like TV programmes, music etc. It's a shame that those cretins have taken over the GC, but looks like they're not going to be shifted.

Mate I like a good laugh as much as anyone & some of the people on there are just fine but some of the topics discussed has to make you wonder if it's even putting the whole site in danger of being shut down.

I've had some good, funny conversations over there but some of the bile makes me want to bowk.

Newcastle and Sunderland supporters need to stick together and defeat the scum that is GC!

I never go on GC and had the misfortune to click the link that Syd posted above. There are some sick individuals posting on that board and most of it has jack **** to do with football or any other sport for that matter. This is a sport website. Any sane person who happens to be surfing the net and comes across the GC board of this great forum would be mortified at some of the bile on there.

Get rid of it ASAP Mick.
