Dear Syd, It is with a heavy heart I read of your decision to step down. The level of abuse that you personally have had to endure is unreasonable to expect of any man. I can fully understand your abhorrence at the vitriol being posted by many over time & not just on this occasion that has led to your decision. In life most try their best to make it better for others while a minority live for themselves. Your unbridled optimism of living for today & enjoying it, is a blessing which often goes unnoticed by many on here. I personally enjoy your comment 99% of the time & find it a breath of fresh air to listen to you when others are being consumed by doom & gloom. If this allows more time with Oscar & your good lady, then you deserve it our good friend. In closing my I extend my thanks for all your efforts to enable so many to further enjoy discussing not only football but the many subjects affecting us all in our daily lives. Ps: I personally look forward to your happy threads
I agree. It is one of those things that has annoyed me majorly. To see someone victimised the way he was is a great injustice in my eyes. Would love to take GC down but quite frankly they are not worth my effort.

Ban the twats syd that's your job and hope you'll be back tomorrow, or we'll have no one to take the piss out of. As said by the barcode above the GC users are a bunch of muppets/trolls/wums whatever you want to call the said gets, probably watching too many Matrix films. Stay on mate you are better than this.
Just want to say, Newcastle and Sunderland fans have had many well documented difference's, but as a Newcastle fan I fully respect you for your time on here and your descision... The jokes on there were sickening and not just the Gary Speed jokes, the jokes mocking disabled children, posting of STD pictures and the general abuse that goes on everyday. I personally am also questioning my membership of this site, a line has been crossed, and I respect you for making a stand! I hope you stay and the others are punished and not the other way around!
Syd, I am very sad to see you go and personally I will be re-considering how much time I spend here now, in reality I am a little sick of all the abuse on here, your posts which are always uplifting are the highlights of this forum.
