Wales know a victory against Cyprus in Nicosia on Thursday would put them on the brink of Euro 2016 qualification.

Chris Coleman's side would then need to beat Israel at home on Sunday to guarantee their place in the finals in France next summer.

Wales' previous two visits to Cyprus - both during John Toshack's tenure - ended in ignominious defeats.

But confidence is high among Coleman's men, who have lost only once in the past 11 matches and are top of Group B.

They have not conceded a goal in the three matches since beating Cyprus 2-1 in Cardiff last October.

Cyprus remain in contention to qualify with nine points from their six games, having started the campaign with a notable away win over top seeds Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Coleman said West Bromwich Albion defender James Chester is unlikely to play because of a hamstring injury, but could return in time for Sunday's match with Israel in Cardiff.

The manager is confident another injury doubt, forward Hal Robson-Kanu, will be fit after the Reading player took part in training.

Robson-Kanu, who scored Wales' second goal against Cyprus, suffered a groin injury in Saturday's 3-1 victory at Brentford.

James Collins, Ben Davies and David Edwards are back rafter missing June's 1-0 win over Belgium through injury.

Collins was a late arrival at the training base following the birth of his son over the weekend but has since taken full part in training

Midfielders Joe Allen, Emyr Huws and Jonathan Williams as well as defender Adam Matthews are out injured, with David Vaughan also unavailable for family reasons.

Uncapped Charlton Athletic left-back Morgan Fox received a late call-up to join the squad.

We need to keep our formation and discipline for this one, Williams needs to stamp his leadership qualities right from the start, nothing but a solid defensive display will do, I'm going with a 2-1 win to Wales, but it could be a tight 1-0 win, though a draw could be on the cards also...................<ok>

I think we could draw both or maybe lose one and win one and still qualify tbh, but im banking on winning both anyway...

I've got a feeling we'll limp over the line to qualification just because the pressure's now on and we're so close. I do hope I'm wrong though!

I think we can handle it dg, but we don't know never having climbed so high before.

I think Cyprus will try kick us off the pitch so we got to lay into them if they do.

Just heard that WALES is the highest ranked home nations side, astonishing. I never thought I'd hear a commentator say that

Ben Davies looks to be lacking a lot of confidence...what have Spurs done to him?!

Looks awful, constantly passing it backwards. Been a poor game so far.

Bale doesn't seem his usual self. I'm used to seeing him wanting to take the game by the scruff of the neck, but tonight he's just 'normal'.....

I have to agree with all the previous comments!

They're no great shakes but are pressing better than us. No reason we can't pinch this 1 - 0 though, we have more quality where it matters.

We need to finish our chances, we look a tad rusty up front.

shaky first 1/2, bale, ramsey, robson-k, davies all off the pace. Still, even though we've played poorly we should be 2 up. Should have had a penalty and a clean goal disallowed.

I think Cyprus will tire 2nd half so I still think we can win this.

Disallowing the goal was harsh, but not sure the hand balls were a penalty.
