Well I suppose it had to happen eventually; a stand out performer with a stack of 1sts against his name getting knocked off his lofty perch. Yep Smokey got his ass whooped this week. Still he was in good company, knocking around in the basement with half the field. He'll just have to console himself with a very tidy lead in the season long comp. Ron was the champ this week finding the winner in a 20 odd runner handicap hurdle over at Leopardstown (beat mine!). Nice one Ron and just nudged into the black for the season. Red remains very consistent in second place with a 5.60 return. He's also in second place overall. Third was shared by Oddy and Reebs. Well done all and thanks for sticking with it. I reckon we have around 12 weeks left until the Whitbread (or whatever it's called now) when the Comp will finish. Good Lord. Just checked the results and, if not for Flaxen Flare, I would have had the first, second and third with my 3 selections in that race.
