after a hard fought for point at home to the leaders, and with bristol city and crewe winning, town must now make full use of a new management and coaching system.

with blades still in deepest of doo doo one would have expected them to be climbing the league by now with clough. no plucky little crewe entertain the blades and thump them 3-0. there mmust be a pause for hope here.

    results
    -------

    blades have taken just 8 points from the last 21. L3-0 a crewe. d 2-2H bantams,L 2-1 @ county, L2-1 @ walsall, W 3-1 h tranny, D 1-1 h oldham, w 1-0 h swindle.

    league
    ----------
very similar to town! deepest of doo doo!

    hotshots. few!
    maguire d 6
    baxter striker 5
    porter striker 5

in general i have picked up down here in deepest wettest, flooded Devon, a new air of hope, with Jacko and players Tweeting, being quoted etc i spy a new morale and a need to win. long may that continue

    Floreat Salopia!

It is crucial that we take points from a game like this.

Another awful display in a crucial game. Two poor goals given away early and a very ordinary-looking Sheffield side did not really have to break sweat to contain us after that. Weale has been poor recently and should be replaced by Anyon for the next game (we should have taken the money from Yeovil and bought a striker). Woods made a mistake to let them in for the first goal but nevertheless still was head and shoulders above all the others in terms of commitment to the cause. Mills had a good game and Parry looked to be our main threat. Jackson must take responsibility for poor team selection - how he can bring in two loan strikers and then prefer first a wing back playing in the hole and then an out of form Taylor is completely beyond me. I feel sorry for Eaves - he is trying hard but is completely isolated with three or four defenders around him all the time - I would have taken Taylor off instead.
I thought at the start of the season when we had a strike-force of Bradshaw and Marsden that we would go down - we are now in real danger of ending up bottom of the league. We need to have a real go to get three points in every game now - that means playing two proper strikers, cutting out the pointless possession football and all hands to the pumps in getting the ball forward quicker and trying to pressurise the opposition - our defence is simply not good enough to try and keep it tight and nick something at the other end. Yes, we are probably going down but lets at least try to go down with a bang and not a whimper.

Why shouldn't we panic? - we have a losing strategy and are not changing it. The Club needs to act now to plan for next year because the current squad is not good enough to make any impression in League 2, let alone League 1.

It's times like these that make you realise that you are a supporter...

Major Messup went to Sheffield and took it out on Shrewsbury.

Corporal Jones said "Don't Panic" whilst Fraser said "We're Doomed". The latter is more appropriate.

Sorry KDS- I got my Dad's Army characters mixed up! I am panicking but we are not quite doomed yet - you never know something might turn up but it will have to be pretty special to keep us up.
