At the end of the Sunderland game the son of a friend ran on to the pitch in celebration and managed to ask Curtis Davies for his shirt. He took it off, told him to put it under his own shirt to avoid having it nicked, then told him he'd sign it later. He then arranged for the young man to visit the training ground so he could sign it and have their photo's taken holding it. He's a top bloke.
Great stuff. Just what you'd want in a captain. I hope he leads us out at Wembley (preferably more than once).
How did he get in touch with him retrospectively? He's a good lad is Curtis. Remember the first game I saw him play in Dawson's testimonial it was obvious even then that he was a real leader and a good bloke.
I'm sure the fact he asked nicely had the desired result. As opposed to the scruffy fat oik in grey trackies that tried to forcibly remove Elmo's shirt and was given the cold shoulder.
Maybe he just told him to come down to the training ground, and bring the shirt. Curtis probably let someone there know that the lad was coming down. Curtis is the real captain of this side. When I met him a few weeks ago he was a cracking bloke and we had a good chat.
Outstanding fella ..both as a player and as a team leader...just hope he gets to lead us out and hoist the Cup up at Wembley. What a year he's had. Roy must be mad to ignore him for Brazil. The Man U defence on Sunday was a joke.
Saw your mate's son doing this a few metres from where I sit in the West, Curtis is quite simply a top bloke and a top player. I believe he is the best player ever to play for our club and he is also one of my favourites given the way he acts.
Curtis had a lot of time for the fans during his brief stint at Leicester too. He's a really nice lad.
