Those of you not on twitter probably won't have seen that he's running a charity drive competition in memory of Josh Fell, the young city fan who tragically died from Sudden arrhythmia death syndrome at the age of only 15. You really get the feeling that Curtis is a nice guy and cares about the fans in a huge way, I'm extremely glad to have him as captain representing our club brilliantly both on and off the field. This is his just giving page - http://www.justgiving.com/Curtis-Davies/eurl.axd/cd2e5f6c1758ca4fa9ec32b4245e8279 He says: "Thanks for taking the time to donate. When attending the Hornsea branch of the HCOSC with George Boyd we were well looked after and met some really nice people. One of those people was Richard Fell whose son tragically died from SADS (Sudden arrhythmia death syndrome) on the 9th of June 2011, aged just 15 years old. I'd like this raffle to raise awareness of this condition as well as some donations to support it. For every £1 donation you will enter a competition to win 1 of 5 pairs of Adidas boots signed by me. Also I have 19 pictures from different times in my career that i will personalise and sign as runners-up prizes. Please support this good cause and help to raise awareness. Thanks, Curtis Davies HCAFC"
He's such a classy ****er. There's something about signing off as "Curtis Davies, HCAFC" that I really like too. Not just because he abbreviates the name correctly but the fact he mentions it alongside his name like he's genuinely proud about it.
I do like his twitter handle: Professional Footballer for a team in Hull I'm not sure the name of anymore!
He put that up when he first signed last summer, when there was genuine confusion in the club's statements making you wonder what they actually wanted to be called.
Star man. Why woy doesn't rate him is beyond me. A leader on and off the pitch at least he will be fresh for our euro campaign
As long as he wears the shirt and armband with pride and does his bit for the local community then banter aside, I couldn't give a f**k who he supported as a kid
Josh was the son of my primary school friend, Richard who I must also say has taken this saddest of events and done something uplifting and positive and in that, the spirit of his son and family live on.
It's probably not difficult to impress when you're playing Cardiff - I have to be honest in saying that we were awful all season - but Curtis Davies was the best CB I saw at Cardiff's stadium this season. He was superb. Very impressed with him
Cheers - and yet he didn't get into the top three in the man of the match voting on here... http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/251385-MOM-123-Cardiff-(A)/page4
Actually since you are here, what are your thoughts on Steven Caulker? And what do you think of him in comparison to Curtis Davies?
I thought he was good for us at first but I'm not too sure now. I and a lot of other City fans have got our doubts. He isn't playing with good players so maybe I'm being a bit unfair but he's been fairly non-descript for a while. He has left some big gaps in the heart of the defence and considering he is our Captain he definitely isn't a natural leader - no way. The general opinion is that he'll be gone soon and it will be interesting to see how he does with a bigger club. Good on the ball but question marks over his defensive/marking stability
Curtis is all class and a brilliant CH and Club captain to boot. Look where Birmingham have finished up without him. Davies v Caulker? Men against Boys. The only one who can't see it apparently is Hodgson. Well done yet again Curtis for getting behind this worthy cause!
he may be a quality person, and a brilliant player for us, but hes not good enough for England!! stop that already you just make hull fans look like a set of planks.
The fact he doesn't sign it Curtis Davies Hull Tigers is a huge bonus. He's a top fella, no doubt about it.
The stats this season put him constantly ahead of the CBs that are going to Brazil so the only planks here are Hodges on and you, dickhead.
His Pre-match interview for the FA cup oozes class. He is the definition of a top bloke and not only have I donated but my fitting tribute to this captain is to name my first car after him. It's not creepy I swear
