http://www.kicca.com/TheCurtisDavies/posts/54e73c74aed1d9146e3a0852 I've found myself out of the side for the last two games and it's a situation that doesn't suit me well nor something I enjoy. I'm not one of those who can sit on the bench and just be happy, I like to earn my money. I remember when I was at Villa and nowhere near the team. I had a year and a half left on my contract so I could have sat there or I could have left and played football. Not playing is not something I'm used to. Since 2011/12 season I've been a regular and must have played 150+ games in that time. But the manager is doing what he feels he needs to do and I can't have too many complaints after the team nearly won at Man City and then won and kept a clean sheet at home to Villa. I don't believe in the idea of if you train well you will get your place back. Games are where you're judged. I always train hard and I know certain players are worldies in training and then melt on a matchday and vice versa so you can't read too much into training. After the last two results we've just had I can't quite knock the managers door down. I've just got to take my chance if and when it comes. The bench is the worse place to be as you just want to be out there playing. You can't affect anything just sitting there and I'm not one of those who can sit there and switch off. If anything, I'm more nervous on the bench. Away from a match day Paul McShane and Robbie Brady are a real double act around the club. They are the jokers. They are always coming in with silly pictures or silly videos and have some good banter between them. James Chester is the sneaky one. He won't wet people's clothes, or anything like that, but he'll be the first on you if you have a dodgy outfit or if your shoes are dodgy he might put them in the fridge.
Got to give him credit in pretty much being straight in the fact that Bruce can't bring him in after the last 2 games. I'm hopeful that this is the kick up the backside he needs to get 2013/4 Curtis Davies back instead of the pale imitation we have ATM.
Nice attitude and completely at odds with the bollocks that was written on this forum about him after the ****ish tweets from his agent.
I'm cracking up at the thought of Abel Hernandez going to the fridge and picking up what he THINKS is the cheese, only to find it's Curtis Davies' diadoras. That's not going to fit inside two slices of Mighty White is it, Abel? Those crazy footballers. I'm in bits. Etc etc
100% agreed. My heart sank when reading about their hilarious *'bants'. *If you use the word bants, you are unequivocally a ****.
He was scoring goals last season and defending like a ****ing champion....if he gets back in the side he needs to score a goal IMO...the defending part will follow.
He would be better served staying off Twitter as everybody can see how much time he spends pursuing his business interests and equate that to his loss of form
Spot on. CD can have no issues with being dropped. He has been very poor in many games and has cost us league points. If this does not get him motivated enough to get back to where he was last season then nothing will. Being dropped is more than a kick up your backside. You need to buck your ideas up Curtis.
I dont get it, is what he wrote cut off or something? That last paragraph seems really out of place and he doesnt end what he wrote in any real way.
Curtis has been poor for much of this season after a brilliant year last year. But he's a stand up guy and been a positive influence in the community. I think injuries have affected his recent form and would expect him to be back to his best next season. Hope he gets a new contract and stays with us.
Sounds to me like if he doesn't get his first team place back he would want to leave, the first paragraph really indicates that.
