Swansea City are 'impatient' over signings, says coach Alan Curtis 29 minutes ago From the section Football please log in to view this image Alan Curtis says he spoke to Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins about transfer targets last week Swansea City need to sign a striker to improve morale among the players, management and supporters, according to coach Alan Curtis. The Swans have enquired about Leicester forward Leonardo Ulloa and are also keen on Sevilla's Fernando Llorente. Curtis believes missing out on midfielder Joe Allen, who has joined Stoke, has deepened the frustration. "I suppose we are all a little impatient, I guess even more so as we didn't bring in Joe Allen," he said. "I think there is a lot of frustration, with the supporters but also with the players and maybe the board themselves. "We all know there is a need for us to bring people in now." Curtis said there was "lots of work happening behind the scenes" to get deals done. He added: "The squad is getting stronger, but at this time of year there is an impatience to bolster the squad with a big-name signing and we are no different. "I think the players like to see [other] players coming through the dressing room. "Hopefully we can strengthen." Says it all for me that even the Manager and coaches dont have a clue what Jenkins is doing and as frustrated as the fans are...
Curtis is spot on, Jinx is getting a serious embarrassment, we need to retire the dithery old boot........
I said the other week this is not good for player morale, now you can see why I came out with it, Jinx is bloody dithering old boot......
One of many things I like about Curtis is he is not afraid to speak his mind , although I think it cost him coaching duties for the remainder of last season when he spoke out favourably about Laudrup a few times . I think all are frustrated , from the top down , but it's the top that are responsible for the inability to get managers and players interested in coming to the club ...from the moment Jenkin's and Morgan taxied down the runway to got to South America .....till present .
Whilst I think we need to be cautious I think Jinx is being over cautious and I'm afraid we'll end up with players who are not up to it.
He's being a tight fisted arseholes. We've only spent £6.8 million. Mighty Bournemouth have spent £37 million this window. So much for new investment.
Valley, I am still not convinced there will be any new investment, what will be spent is what we would have spent if the Yanks hadn't arrived. In fact I wonder whether it will be less under the Yanks.
I think we could end most threads with moanfest . 5 years playing midtable football while being the only team making money on transfers ....who wouldn't moan .
With gomis gone and bbc confirming we are not paying 2p in wages for him over the next year...eder wages, poloschi s wages..got to be 120k+ per week for the 3, plus the 10 million we got for the last 2..are we seriously saying we can't afford most of the strikers on the world wide market?..If so where's the money going
Let's wait till the window closes and see who else is gone and who comes in . In reality if ( and that's a big if ) Ayew goes all we need are a few strikers , everything else is in place IMO . Marsielle started out wanting us to pay 70% of Gomis's wages , by the time he left it appears we will pay none . Waiting has its advantages and we aren't much of a club that blinks a lot . We are also not a club that transfers unless we are the only club interested ....it's a good rule .
Fair enough, well know where we stand as a club in the next 5 weeks or so...If we make a few decent signing by then,I'll apologise for my non believing thoughtsbut if not............!!#¥!!!!
