How the current top six clubs compare with Bristol City in the race for promotion
The Robins are in the mix currently for a play-off place but can they last the pace?

Bristol City are nicely placed to come out of the second international break and make real headway in their season's aims.
Despite having the exact same points as at this point last year - after 11 rounds of Championship matches - the side from BS3 now have three games in a row at Ashton Gate.
If the Robins can add to their great form that has seen them unbeaten at home all season (and lose only once in their last 12 home matches across this season and last) then they could be on for a sustained campaign around the right end of the table.
Here we take a look at the other teams up at the top currently and how the Robins compare.

    Cardiff City
The Bluebirds have consistently been at the top of the tree: they've been in first position in the league after seven of the 11 rounds of matches so far this season.
Given the way that talents such as Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Danny Ward have supplemented Sol Bamba, Kenneth Zohore and Junior Hoilett, and coped in recent weeks without the injured Joe Ralls, then the side from over the Severn look well set for the long run.
Warnock's masterly management seems to be working in Wales and that 4 November meeting between them and the Robins looks oh so tasty.
Look set to be up there for the long haul.

    Wolverhampton Wanderers
Nuno Espirito Santo's side have impressed this writer more than anyone else the Robins have faced this season (although Brentford take that honour on a one-half showing for the middle period of the game at Griffin Park).
Recently survived a period without key centre-back Willy Boly, while record signing Ruben Neves is yet to hit top form.
But when you factor in talents such as Diogo Jota, Leo Bonatini and Ruben Vinagre they look well set for a long-term challenge and might even spend again in January.

    Sheffield United
Chris Wilder's team are the surprise name in the top six currently for many - if not the Robins - given their promotion last year from the league below. But the blades have done the business.
A recent win over Wolves, aided by an early red card to Conor Coady, helped showcase the South Yorkshire side's credentials.
However, we've a feeling that over the longer period they may not be able to keep up with the big boys, due to squad strength. We'll see.

    Leeds United
The Whites went so close to making the play-offs last season before Garry Monk's team fell away at the last. Chris Wood looks to have been adequately replaced (with three goals in five starts for Pierre-Michel Lasogga), however, and star defender Pontus Jansson has picked up from last season, too.
While three defeats in their last five games - across all competitions - may have checked their early progress, given last year's challenge and the consistent quality of Kalvin Phillips, the Yorkshire side could well make the top six come May 2018.

    Preston North End
Alex Neil's side have started the season in terrific form and look to have shaken off the departure of Aiden McGeady and Simon Grayson in the close season.
Questions over their longevity at the top of the table will be tested in the next weeks as they visit Wolves, City and Ipswich, and host the in-form Aston Villa.
However, the Lancastrians boast by far the best defensive statistics in the league, having only conceded six goals so far this season, which possibly points to sustained challenge.

3 points off of Burton should give the team the restart they need, let's hope all of the recent attention doesn't change things.

A lot of our predictions in the predictions threads have us as 3-0 winners over Burton.
Let's hope that LJ hasn't let the players believe such things or complacency will see us draw or God forbid even LOSE.
We still need to turn up and give them a game.
