Hi Guys, long time away, just thought i would share my view on our current form recently.

Tonight against Brum as before we seem to only be able to play for 45 mins. The most noticeable thing i have witnessed is the very slow pace of our game when playing poorly, the lack of cohesion between back middle and front. We seem to keep playing across and back the back 4, and with the last big problem i think, our front men are static, there is absolutely no movement at all, so with all the empty space between the back 4 and the front line the defender with the ball (or Pack/Brownhill who come very deep) have no option but to play across and back again OR pump a long ball up to the front men, often losing possession easily!

But when we are playing well, we link very well at pace front back to middle and then to front, breaking lines with lots of movement giving us many more attacking options. Why is this? Why do we play so differently half to half, game to game? Is it changes or is it fatigue?

I think we still are missing someone with real leadership ( maybe Korey Smith) , who can actually see problems on the pitch and be able to change things without having to wait till half time by the manager?

Over to you guys, what do you think?

Not a disaster but it needs addressing today and not wait until later. The statistics last night were quite shocking and with that amount of possession we should surely have had more shots and certainly more on target. Diedhou apparently missed a sitter and for me he's not the answer to our lack of punch up front. We need to get back on track in our next match otherwise the playoffs may be out of our reach. I agree we need a Korey Smith type player back in our lineup and unless we fix our problems all the positive work done by City will go down the drain.

The wheels on the bus come off and off, off and off, off and off...

Too soon to be saying that - yes it's now three defeats in a row, but against Wolves & Norwich we were the underdogs so last night was the only game where we 'ought' to have done better. Worrying that it seemed to be a case of 'sterile domination' & that we've now shipped five goals in two games. I don't want to pin too much on Diedhiou, as he has had to pretty much got it alone, regardless of form or the opposition - unfortunately Matty Taylor isn't really stepping up when given his chances, so maybe time for Eisa or Semenyo to have a crack...

This and we need an upgrade on Pack.
I’m a big Pack fan and can see that without him or when he’s not at the races we are really poor. But an upgrade on him would make us really strong in midfield and utilise Brownhill more.

The next 2 games look every bit as tough, away at PNE where we have a horrible recent record and then home to Leeds, who have the 3rd best record in this division currently. It may get worse before it gets better....
Let's hope it doesn't get so bad that Redprintt feels the need to chip in.......
