We would have to virtually TOP the form table over the last 9 games (say 20pts) to get within reach of 6th place with 72pts. Could we manage 6 wins and 3 draws to get 21 pts and a 73 pt total ???? Even that might not be enough with our GD Thats how big the task is. I think last nights result blew it for us this year. Also there are 5 other teams chasing the last 2 likely playoff spots.
It'd be nice for us tonow make top 6, but last night ended it for me. If we get there, great. But if we can't beat a side at home who are struggling, we don't deserve to make top 6. The worrying prospect is that we do indeed make top 6, lose in the playoffs, & then GFH persuade NW to stay on for another season.
Posh, Boro, Leics, Wolves, Palace ... Ten points gone!!!! These were all "should have wons" that we simply couldn't close out, and that is a massive flaw in our squad, our spine is weak.
