I've just checked the current form table (last 6 games) on statto.com and thought I'd see what the table would look like if that form was repeated for the the next 6.

    This would be the result:

    1...Middlesbrough ........ Pld 31 Pts 58
    2...Cardiff City .................. 31 ... 56
    --------------------------------------
    3...West Ham ................... 31 ... 54
    4...Southampton .............. 31 ... 52
    5...Reading ...................... 31 ... 51
    6...Derby County .............. 31 ... 50
    --------------------------------------
    7...Blackpool .................... 31 ... 49
    8...Birmingham City ........... 30 ... 48
    9...Burnley ....................... 31 ... 48
    10..Hull City ...................... 31 ... 48
    11..Leeds Utd .................... 31 ... 45
    12..Crystal Palace .............. 31 ... 45
    13..Portsmouth .................. 30 ... 42
    14..Peterborough Utd .......... 31 ... 42
    15..Leicester City ............... 31 ... 41
    16..Brighton and Hove Alb..... 31 ... 41
    17..Watford ....................... 31 ... 39
    18..Barnsley ...................... 31 ... 39
    19..Bristol City ................... 31 ... 34
    20..Ipswich Town ................ 31 ... 34
    21..Doncaster Rovers .......... 31 ... 31
    -----------------------------------------
    22..Millwall ........................ 31 ... 30
    23..Nottingham Forest ......... 31 ... 28
    24..Coventry City ............... 31 ... 25

I wont bother asking how happy or otherwise you'd be if this came to pass as the respective answers from Pompey and Saints fans is pretty obvious.

But how close do you think this is to how the table will actually look in six games' time?

I can't see Saints continuing their bad run of form - I think we will beat Forest tomorrow and will regain confidence

Just shows how brilliantly we had been doing if after a bad run of a dozen games we are still in fourth place clear of the team in 7th. I'm confodent that Nigel will get us back on track. Starting tomorrow!

I wouldn't be surprised if we boinged between 1-4 over the next month, but it's the final day that matters. Would prefer us to be promoted with at least one game to go though. I think the Pompey position is probably about right; doubt you'll be below 16th.

Who knows in the Championship, I expect Portsmouth to pick up and Leicester who will not doubt spend another fortune. I cannot see Derby maintaining their run but I am still hesitant to pick the top six.
