He was co-presenter on the Alan Brazil show this morning on Talksport........ to close AB asked Curbs if, after his Fulham experience, he was missing football ....... Curbs answered yes he was missing it........ AB then asked if Curbs was looking for a manager's, coach or DoF role?........ Curbs answered he would be willing to consider any of those.... I'm sure Chris would love a bit of assistance from Curbs as DoF..... but could we afford him? AllHell
A DoF is what we are heading for, but it'll have to be someone who's prepared to build up full knowledge of Roley's network of players, academies, then agree with the philosophy on how that gets used, which right now is about as clear as mud. Doesn't sound like the thing that made Curbs famous in the first place, to me...
I don't think CP or Curbs would work with each other as it stands. CP needs to build his own legacy if good enough, and I think Curbs would respect that. The relationship of DOF and manager is never an easy one.
I have great respect for both men but I think pairing them would be in neither's interest. But what if the owner fails to renew CP's contract and appoints Curbs as manager instead in an attempt to curry favour with the fans? Not sure if Curbs would want to work for someone that intrusive, and he would need to come up with some great results to compensate for stabbing CP in the back.
