http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2685490,00.html All the other European associations move their games to a Saturday even if playing on a Wednesday. Italian and Portugese clubs play on a Friday, eg Benfica, before European nights. Milan and Barca will move their fixtures to a Saturday before a potential Wednesday night European semi. Why can't we play Spurs on a Friday night if Bolton are out. Or Liverpool play Sund/Everton on a Friday at Old T to help us out?
Why should we have to move because of liverpool? They should have to play on Friday or Monday not us.
You've benefited in the past from it too. Like when we played you on a Sunday in the FA Cup quarters after playing a late evening game in Portugal a couple of days earlier. You had, in effect 3 extra days on us to prepare. Maybe you guys should just field a youth team against (potentially) us in the semis
LOL. We may well lose to Fica anyway. What happened with that Cup QF; was it moved from a Sat to a Sun? And was it AFTER rather than before a European night?
Would be happy to play possibly Spurs on a Friday Drogs, then Pool could play on Sat not Sun. TV ratings on a Friday night would still be good, right?
To be fair, I might shrug it off and say "it happens to everyone" when Chelsea get short shrift but I was ****ing fuming at the time Especially as we went 3-1 up at half time before our players got knackered and you drew it 3-3 Regarding the Bolton game, it's difficult because time's a big issue. The Bolton players will likely not be over the shock until the end of the week, then they'll have to think whether they'll be able to cope returning to WHL so soon. Then there's Muamba and his family, as long as he keeps improving it should be alright but if he were to take a turn for the worse then the game becomes totally inappropriate, in my opinion. I can't see a final decision being made before the end of the week, if not next week and then begins the trouble of scheduling it. The 4th is really the only date that's do-able for both clubs but it leaves us with 4 games in 9 days and them with 4 in 10 days. Thanks to the FA who deem it necessary for nearly every side except for clubs in Manchester to play two games in 2 days Personally I'd rather Bolton either made the decision tomorrow so we can play it next week, or pulled out. It's not the way I'd like to qualify for the semi finals but it's a **** situation anyway and I don't want us to have our season ****ed up either. No matter what happens, I'm sure we on't be having any ****ing replays!
Yid--I dont think anyone can have anything but sympathy for all involved in this situation! Please God Muamba will continue to improve, but all those close to the matter -football wise-will find it hard to become eyeballs out for FA Cup glory! Spurs and Bolton mainly--but afterwards CFC!
Tbh YV, it's not the point. I am all for the hillsborough campaign but if it starts to interfere with other teams' schedules then they should also cater for their needs too. Of course if it benefitted us I wouldn't be moaning but it certainly shouldn't do damage to our fixture list!
Oh of course and I'm not saying they should rush the decision but if the decision's not made soon it will **** both our and Bolton's season up. That last bit is very clear and is not changed by some awful circumstances.
Looking at it it's really going to screw Bolton up and could be why they go down if they have to play games close together. They were due to play you on semi final day anyway so that's another they have to reschedule anyway. Not detracting from the situation in anyway but people in all walks of life have heart attacks but life goes on.
Oh, the irony, Dona. Back out of hiding, old boy, now you have broken your run of defeats; or have you been deleting your own comments
