The Big Smoke
Not really sure if this was a cult classic but I certainly don't remember there being a song and dance about it when it was rekeased.

I'm talking about "Jacob's Ladder" one of the best films I have ever seen with a terrific performance by Tim Robbins, very dark stuff but riveting.
 
It was decent enough. When the script was published loads of directors wanted to do it and Adrian Lyne got the gig and it was felt he made a pig's ear of it. It's a movie I always felt could have been better.

Surprised no one's done a remake to be honest.
 
Try some british cult classics like The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover. Or Dead Man's Shoes. Fantastic films.
 
Don't know if The Wanderers is a cult classic in that it was a pretty huge movie at the time. They even brought a playstation game out about it years after the event. I think it looks pretty dated now.

One poster mentioned Dead Man's Shoes. I thought that it was an excellent wee movie Paddy Considine is brilliant in it.
