OK so in every previous interview a spokesperson of the CTWD group had qualified the groups stance by being Anti name change but PRO Allam . All they publicly ask for is for Allam to drop his challenge to change the clubs name and the group still support him in every other way . Now , in light of the Poll , especially how it was conducted , worded and the obvious worries of ramifications to anyone concerned about preferential treatment for Cup tickets , Does the group STILL support the conniving Allam and his Clan ?? Personally i dont see how this is possible as today all the media is concerned with is showing that the FANS are in support of Allam and the name change - this is not quite right and make the club look ****ing ridiculous , Myself ive always been more concerned on how Allam conducts his stewardship rather than his name change plans - I made the error in the beginning of accepting his voice and allowing his plan to develop in the expected safety of democratic opinion and debate winning through , ive been consistent in this and i have no confidence in him or his co-horts , i dont understand how anyone can support HIM with his pre-conditions , So where do CTWD members stand on this ? im a member and i dont support Allam
I'm not a member and I quite like Assem Allam... BUT I did vote NO to Hull Tigers and if he doesn't accept the fa verdict He can go for all I care.
I'm in the same position as you. I can't stand the man and long for him to leave the club, and I'm a CTWD member and supporter. I think the reason for this pro-Allam stance which is re-enforced in every interview is partly just to keep people onside. It's easy to look like a group of militants if you're anti-Allam (particularly as he insists you're a group of militants) and IMO they've avoided that by being overly pro-Allam whilst fighting the name change. For me personally the two issues (name change and mental owner who needs to go) are both very important. I wonder if this might be a topic discussed at the FGM. But ultimately I think it depends on what's going to get the best outcome regarding the name change. So far the respectful, nicey-nice approach has done a lot of good. If it remains the case that this is the best way forward then I'm sure they'll keep doing it.
I'm a CTWD member and said months ago I wanted him to stay until he finds a buyer, and leave with his head held high. I would like him to accept the FA's decision with grace, announce he must reluctantly look for a buyer as he can't take the club any further (and yes we all know he has taken it far), and then we can get back to watching and enjoying football.
I hope he accepts the fa decision AND finds a way to bring in more investment for HULL CITY, nicknamed THE TIGERS. I don't want him to fight the fa decision. I would rather he walked then do that. And do you know what ? Our next owner just might be our greatest ever. Twt as tickler would say. ANYONE NOT BOUGHT A SEMI FINAL YET....Go and get one !
CTWD will be releasing a statement tomorrow, it will be limited to comments on the FA's decision. Beyond that, it will be for the new committee to decide how they want to handle things. Unless AA decides to continue with this nonsense, in which case, many of the current CTWD committee will probably carry on for a while longer.
This is purely a personal point of view - but I'd like some idea of what kind of owner we get next, before I call for the current one to go. Especially as ON the pitch, he has enabled a tremendous job to be done. As OLM says, time will tell what the new CTWD committee will think. If you have a strong view - stand for the committee. That would be my suggestion.
A few days before a huge game? Oh sorry, that's ok for you to do that. Carry on. Any chance of some honesty this time? Will you make it clear you're representing a minority?
Considering you and your co-masturbator PattySlapper both claim you are 'not bothered' about the name change, you both spend a hell of an amount of time on here, attacking those who have the bottle to have done something to support their convictions, regarding the Club's name and history. With regard to the 'ballot', which I didn't have a vote in (did you?) - do you really think that was a proper ballot, or just another crew-up by AA?
I think that is an excellent point. I don't like him and would be happy if he ****ed off but he is less unappealing that most of our owners post Harold-Needler. Sometimes it can be better the devil you know.
Do you go out of your way to be a prick? Ballot by the East Riding FA 100% against, Ballot by the supporters trust 60% against, Ballot by the OSC 60% against, Ballot held on here 58% against, ballot by the club 17% for 16.8% against. What part of maths don't you understand?
Is it feasible for Ehab to take over? Is it potentially enough of a face-saver for AA, or has Ehab aligned himself to his Dad too closely to establish a reasonable level of independence? Personally, I like Ehab. I feel he'd make a fantastic owner. More level headed and forward thinking than his old man but still a shrewd businessman.
I think he has 0% interest in football and Hull City. Which doesn't mean he cannot be a shrewd owner, just that when it comes to drumming up interest in a massive game like next Sunday's, he is dead in the water and the club look utterly, utterly amateurish and rudderless. No heart and soul.
How many owners (bar Dave Whelan perhaps) are as passionate like that. After all AA's showman routine, I'd settle for a balanced, savvy, effective owner who's happy to stay in the background.
Publicly being the operative word there. Privately not so much. The back burner plan has always been to try and keep the pressure on and ridicule everything done by the Allams. Progressively pushing on towards a take over of the club in the belief Allam is so overstretched he will have to write off the money and walk away, gifting the club to them. It will be interesting to see who goes for the Chairmanship at the first FGM? But my moneys on this bloke Exiled The sociadad model is the same as that enjoyed by the likes of Barcelona and many other top teams in Europe. Instead of a season ticket fans buy a membership to the club which enables them to attend every home game, apply for away game tickets and vote at club elections. The principal elections are those of a president and honorary Vice Presidents whose role is mainly ceremonial. The crucial factor is that such people can donate money to the club as a gift (not a loan) during their term in office - typically 5 years. Alternating between presidential elections the board members would be elected democratically as per the president and would enjoy a fixed term of five years deliberately staggered with the president to eliminate cronyism and produce stability of direction. These positions would be professional and given that this would probably be the most exciting project of this nature in the world of football should attract world class individuals with a track record of prior achievement at the level we aspire to safe in the knowledge they would be able to get on with their job free from interference. Ultimately they would be answerable to the members and the elections. Their principal challenge would be to leverage the unique approach (for the premier league) to attract world class commercial revenue and market the club as the 'deliberately different' option from the city famous for having that ethic in our culture. We would become most thinking peoples 'second club'. With the ability to attract international figures to the president position as a shop window for the very highest level of globally visible philanthropy it should not take long to have a list of suitable candidates. Annual associate memberships would be available globally for anyone wishing to join the project and buy into the values and ethos of Hull City AFC. For that membership they would get an exclusive item that identifies them as a member and would be informed regularly of progress via exclusive media content only available to members. Most Sociedad clubs operate a number of sports and sports facilities so the AA vision of a sports village perhaps spread to YPI could see other sports such as squash being promoted under the same umbrella. With support from the council the club could expand the stadium and offer a 'day member' package to floating fans that do not have voting rights but would be principally aimed at lower incomes and 'tourists' keen to see the project - the first of its kind in the Premier league - for real. With a season limit to the number of games that can be attended via this model and the lure of voting rights members will have enough to differentiate what they are getting for their extra money. The projects timescales should of course be aligned to our city of culture celebrations. AA's legacy would be forever assured and the club would have to negotiate with Allamhouse for the size of the 'gift' given to get us to this point (debt written off) and payback terms for the rest. With a sociadad model every player would know that essentially they would be playing for the fans and every member would and could expect players to give their all for the shirt. The only condition would be that all this must be done as HULL CITY AFC est. 1904 Thoughts??
AP or Duffen would have sold this game out a week ago and made sure we were riding a massive wave of goodwill and momentum. Do you think Assem and mini Assem comprehend the magnitude of this game locally nationally and globally? Do they realise what a milestone it is for the club and what a shop window it is for HCFC and the city? All the indications are they are living in a Ceauceascu style concrete bunker in Melton with only the 'Operation Hull Tigers' roadmap on the table, utterly oblivious to it all.
