Please can you share some more of your opinions on Ctwd I don't think we've heard quite enough from you on the subject so far.
Is this an identity crisis? Either you are CTWD ....... A Single issue protest based group or Hull City Supporters Trust ......... A trust for ALL supporters of Hull City You may say that you started as one thing and have moved on to become something else and that this tee shirt is to celebrate the history of the club, but surely you must be looking to reconcile your past differences if you wish to be recognised by the club, does this really help?
I'm more perturbed that the NewsNow banner labels them as Acrostic t-shirts. Sure, the pattern of words spell out CITY, but it doesn't appear acrostic at all by my understanding of the term.
Precisely my thoughts. I'm sure a certain CTWD official has stated the campaign was now over, "The Movement" being disbanded and (in a similar way that the BNP really wasn't the same crowd that ran the NF.....LOL!) the New Hull City Supporters Trust was entirely different. They do seem to be struggling with their Name Change don't they.
This is a voluntary organisation, we have no staff, we do things as and when we can. These tees were initially arranged a few months ago, but they took longer than expected, as did getting the new website up and running and the date for the switch to a supporters trust was brought forward and we are where we are. We are very proud of what we achieved as CTWD, so though the name of organisation has changed, we remain City till we die and have no issue with using that strap line, just as the club are doing. It's very easy for people to sit at a keyboard and take the piss while doing nothing, it's rather more difficult trying to actually try and do these things alongside your day job.
The design's good as well. A lot better then some of the things in the official club shop. Maybe after Christmas I'll get a couple to remind me of what we achieved. OmegaMan, we are where we are with the club. There needs to be a desire for reconciliation within the club and amongst the supporters that joined CTWD. For that we need to know whether he's staying or going, whether he wants to work with the Trust or not. That won't be decided by selling some T-shirts with the CTWD logo on. If it does depend on CTWD negating its history then I see any joint working as being built on sand. OLM remember there will be people who make snide remarks, its in their nature, just smile and ...
So are you a supporters trust or a protest group? To me you just seem like a protest group posing as a supporters trust.
Protest finished in April, do try and keep up. City Till We Die was formed by a random group of supporters, the campaign was actually No To Hull Tigers, but too many people had an issue distinguishing between the two, hence the new name for the trust.
Predictable that the first reply in the thread is Mr Miserable criticising people who got off their arses and did something Guess what you don't have to buy one
Sorry Obi, but that is a real pity. I always believed that any supporters trust would be available for ALL of the clubs fans, perhaps I should have taken more notice of your comment. "The new supporters trust is a new organisation and will have its own history good, bad or indifferent. If it is successful, it will be because it represents a significant minority of Hull City supporters and attracts talented people to sit on its governing bodies. Some of those will have had nothing to do with CTWD." The first comment in bold, I thought well of, I missed the point with the second. OLM, people volunteer for many different reasons, I have always applauded any person who gives up their time for the benefit of others. I agree its easy for people to sit at a keyboard and take the piss.
Disagree. 19 t shirts on the website. Some very good designs. Support the club, buy stuff from the club shop.
I think you have still missed the point. We know that the club mistrusts CTWD. There are sections of our membership that mistrust the club. Reconciliation happens when both sides find common ground and work together. For the trust to become successful it needs to attract shareholders and people who give up their own time. In the first stages that will be a minority of City supporters. The bigger that minority the more successful it will be. I don't see us attracting a majority of City supporters as shareholders for years, if ever. My second point was perhaps badly worded. When I said represents I meant had a significant minority as members. That doesn't mean that they should ignore other supporters views just because they haven't joined. I hope that makes my views a little clearer. The success of the Trust will be judged on whether it does a good job of representing the views of City fans, both members and non-members.
That was my whole point Obi. You see it seems that, I for one would be excluded as I believe and always have believed that a supporters trust has to represent all supporters and that some who are talented are not attracted or able to protest.
