A massive turnout. Hull City Supporters Trust is the new name. I would have gone with Tigers Trust personally but there you go the majority have spoken. http://citytillwedie.com/welcome-to-hcst/ Many thanks for the fabulous response we had to our vote for what the Supportersâ Trust should be called when it forms from the merger of Tigers Co-operative and City Till We Die at the end of the month. Straight talking Hull people have spoken â the no-frills option of HULL CITY SUPPORTERSâ TRUST was the clear winner amongst the membership of both groups, attracting 210 votes. The 1904 Trust got 76 votes while retaining City Till We Die garnered 78 votes. We will continue to progress the move to a Supportersâ Trust in the coming weeks. In a few daysâ time we will launch our new membership scheme, where anyone over 16 years old can purchase a single share in the Trust as part of an annual membership fee of £5. Discounts will be available to our younger members. We will also publish details of our HULL CITY SUPPORTERSâ TRUST PARTNERS, who will provide a discount to all Trust members on presentation of a valid 2015 membership card. If your business is interested in becoming a partner then drop us an email at [email protected] â the proposition is simple, you give our members a discount, we publicise your business on our website and Twitter. More details can be found by clicking here. Over the coming weeks we will rebrand this website with attractive new graphics designed to reflect the purpose and ethos of Hull City Supportersâ Trust â we will hopefully retain our Ambition and Tradition tag line. We will rearrange our website to create a #notohulltigers archive, and provide members with access to the Rules and Policies that the Supportersâ Trust must adhere to. We will rename our Twitter account in the next few days as well as launch a new Facebook page. We might even get stuck into Google+, LinkedIn and Youtube too! We look forward to travelling with you towards the exciting new opportunities and challenges that a Supportersâ Trust will provide for us. Support Hull City, get the fans involved, show ambition and respect tradition. Thatâs how we have reached today and thatâs how we will continue. Mike Scott Secretary (temporary!), Hull City Supportersâ Trust
It's REALLY hard to resist.... **** it. A total of 364 votes? Kinell. Name change obviously isn't *that* important to the majority of their members. Calling themselves the same as our new badge, with no mention of Hull on got almost as many votes as CTWD Sad to see that an organisation that is meant to be active and fully supported has so much apathy in its ranks already. Look on the bright side fellas, if the FA decide during the arbitration process to allow the name change, you can then pretend that CTWD and the HCST are 2 different entities and you can get back to protesting in your masses again. Brilliant.
Good luck to The HULL CITY SUPPORTERS TRUST . I see it as a Posative ... Not a Negative If your reading this Mel I always valued your views and opinions on here ....What do you think of this .
So what's the issue or cause for embarrassment here? I voted for Hull City Supporters Trust. Simply cos it's not a name change campaign group, it's a supporters trust.
Unless I'm missing something, no one will view it as a negative. These two just like a dig at the more passionate fan, even if it makes no sense like this.
Ah yes, Happy gets it but no one else. Another of your stock getout posts. Too obvious to explain to the likes of me I'm sure.
A good start for the Supporters Trust - changing the name from CTWD was imperative if this is to become a group for all supporters, which I hope it will. The name change fiasco has divided supporters into "pro", "anti", and "couldn't care less" - let's hope that the new Trust can put all that behind it & get all supporters back together.
For emphasis, Tigers Rebadged United Supporter Trust, making it the TRUST trust, or the same with City at the front, so it's CRUST Trust. Or City Rebadged under Tigers City Hull? Tigers Only Action Supporters Trust. Acronym's, they're the future.
I said before I thought they needed a name change, but as the committee pointed out: . Irony: a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often wryly amusing as a result So yeah. It's funny. What isn't funny, and I'd love to hear your views on this is, less than 25% of the membership could be arsed to vote for the organisations name. Hardly indicitive of the more passionate fan wouldn't you say? Why do you think over 75% of the membership don't care about the name? Is it because the name doesn't matter? Doesn't the history of the organisation matter to all those people who didnt vote or didnt vote for CTWD as a name? How's Castrol going to feel now the names changed, and thus wiped out CTWDs history? See, its not all ****s and giggles, there's some serious stuff that needs addressing.
CTWD is dead. It died when the FA chucked out the name change application. The new supporters trust is a new organisation and will have its own history good, bad or indifferent. If it is successful, it will be because it represents a significant minority of Hull City supporters and attracts talented people to sit on its governing bodies. Some of those will have had nothing to do with CTWD. The growth of the Supporters Trust may well be given a boost if the new owners support it. Interesting times.
Can we look forward a rendition of 'Hull City Supporters Trust Till I Die' at twenty past three-ish on Saturday?
My views Scar are not really valid I see the irony and so will many. The problem of official communication with the club will surface again, even when new owners come in. The name change issue is bigger than than many realise and it has not disappeared. I wish the supporters trust well, the number of individual shares that are taken up will be a critical factor, not how many voted. The fact is that whilst the outward appearance will change, the fundamental objection to the name change remains and that is actually demonstrated in the adoption of Hull City Supporters Trust. Moving from The Tigers Coop to HCST could be seen by some the same way as the club has dropped City from everything except the team, HCST may be seen as dropping everything "Tigers". The personel involved in the foundation of the trust will at some point have to distance themselves from the trusts origins, then they will be is the same position as the OSC. Damned if they do and damned if they don't. I welcome the involvement in some of the board members of the OSC in support for the trust. Any supporters who take the time to become actively involved in a trust deserve a degree of admiration and whilst I do not and did not like the way some things where done, I my hat goes off to the people who have worked hard to get the trust going. Good luck to all concerned.
Chazz, it's a shame you're not familiar with the work the club do with the Tigers Trust... http://www.tigerstrust.co.uk/ Just as our owner should have done, we've moved on, the campaign ended many months ago and it's time for a new fan organisation that doesn't alienate any of the fan-base. As a consequence, the campaign group ceases to be and a new trust is formed, and Happy, the history of Hull City Supporters Trust starts now.
Well done CTWD and Tigers Co-Op for merging together. CTWD had outlived it's purpose (a one policy group at the start) and hence were always going to be in the firing line when it tried to tackle other subjects. This suits all parties.
Almost all votes get a low turnout. You keep using this as an indication of various things in relation to various votes. It means nothing. In political elections hardly anyone votes. You just ignore those who don't as they're saying they don't mind. I'd have been happy with any of the three names proposed. So again Happy, what's the issue here?
Happy can you not just move on from the CTWD campagin and whole name change topic and just be grateful that a handful of our very loyal and passionate supporters can find the time in between juggling thier work and family lives to provide a trust for ALL HULL CITY supporters, no matter what your persuasion is regarding the name change.
