Im quite impressed with the artificial pitch here at cska. Roll is good no bobbles and the bounce looks good and even. Only downfall is its not great to look at, no fancy patterns combed in like a real grass surface.

Given the state of our pitch would anyone be in favour of one of these part artificial pitches? id have always said no before tonight but i can't pick a fault with this pitch tonight

Does part artificial mean one half is grass, and the other plastic?

pretty much yeah, the plastic is woven into the grass or vice versa.

its not like the pitch at Oldham or QPR in the 80`s.

If its proven to work, and it plays just like grass, and injuries are at a minimum (or comparable to grass) then why not.

Steve, steve, steve! I meant is the left half grass, and the right half plastic.

Wait till you see or use the Fifa approved, (2. something?) grade which is a 100% synthectic pitch. Costs a lot which means very few will get it, but wow!

My uni had those 3g artificial pitches. An absolute joy to play on, especially when they were slightly damp, the ball just glided about the place

Hi Jacky, long time no talk as they say. The 2 is the lastest approved last Apr/May last year. For some reason they've started at 5 & are working towards 1. FIFA go figure!!
Does 3 have the rubber about half the size of a finger nail. Internationals can be played on 2.? & UEFA competitions
