As we didn't lose against Villa I have been told I can keep the baton, for now...FLT you are welcome to add your own insight as it was a joint effort. This weekend sees Saints travel to Palace in a very tricky away game. Last season we were lucky to get them at their lowest but this year will be very different with Saints stumbling somewhat. Expect to see: Stek Cedric Fonte VVD Bertrand VIC Clasie Davis Mane Tadic Pelle Will be tough, a draw would be a good result.
I'll have none of that we are stumbling rubbish! we may have stumbled against Liverpool but we got off of our knees against Villa and will be back to our brilliant selves against Palace (so I'll go for a draw)
Lawro's prediction Crystal Palace v Southampton Southampton's recent form is a bit worrying - they have lost three of their last four games and drew the other one, at home to bottom side Aston Villa. Crystal Palace have been inconsistent too but the difference seems to be that, when they really need to win a game, they usually do. Lawro's prediction: 2-1 Mumford & Sons' prediction: 2-1
Funny how things have changed in a year, we smashed this fixture last season and would be content with a draw this. We have already dropped a load of pts in comparable games this season, Leicester, villa, Everton, stoke etc, we need a win to keep our expectations on track. So yes, whilst a draw would be a decent result it would be a good time to get back on the winning track.
Yes, we've dropped points in those games compared to last year but we've also gained points versus last year against WBA, Swansea, Chelsea, Liverpool and Sunderland. Vin
Fair point mate and its a long season with many twists and turns to come. Many teams will go to palace and lose this year and an away draw is not to be sniffed at. With a tricky run of games coming up, let's get this festive period up and running. COYR
And we are also assuming that we won't win in some of the tough games, but results have been strange for the big clubs this year. Why shouldn't we win one?
I think this game might just suit us, we know that they are a counter attacking side so I think we should go there, be tight and hard to break down and don't really give them a chance to break. Time to get that steel of last year back.
The rest of the press conference. He's put my mind at ease regarding his apparent comments about the clubs finances. He is happy with how things are done.
I went to the game when they ripped us apart on the counter attack in the fa cup last season. And on that day they had Chamakh and Sanogo up front . Will be a tough game, their attackers have a real threat and directness
