Next up: Krysztal Palasz. Any of you hardcore venturing to London Bridge like me to meet up with the Millwall and Brum fans before going to Croydon? Should be entertaining... Anyway, my line-up: McCormack - Becchio Townsend - Clayton - Pugh - Snodgrass White - Lees - O'Dea - Thompson Lonergan And I think the Palace will win 2-0.
huh, interesting line-up for a couple of reasons. 1. you have gone 442 and 2. You have not played brown Anyway, I agree with the line-up except i'd play forssell instead of Becchio (which is obviously gonna get shut down and will never happen) and Bruce instead of O'Dear
Don't go to Ldn Bridge guys. The website says that you'll have trouble as BR are playing with their train sets. Better to go to Victoria. There's also a cheap Wetherspoons outside the station, the Willow Walk by platform 1.
As tempting as it sounds think I'll give London Bridge a miss, straight to ground....boring I know. Would start with Forssell instead of Becchio, & Brown instead of Pugh. Hope we're up for it from the off this time.
forssell showed some good touches at arsenal whereas becchio once again showed nothing. --------------lonergan thompson--lees-----bruce----white ---------clayton---pugh sam---------mccormack----townsend -------------forssell snod and becchio on bench if we need a change
Forsell is **** n missed an open net last week Lonergan Thompson, lees, bruce, white Sam,Clayton, Brown, Pugh, Townsend mcCormack
I would have included Bruce, but I'd have thought he'd still be out if he's done his hamstring. Then again he made the bench at the Emirates so maybe he'll be ready again. 4-4-2 simply because we need McCormack in there and he can't play on his own. Also because Nunez has failed to impress me recently. Still looks headless. Chose Pugh over Brown because I thought he did OK at Arsenal and is generally a bit more energetic. I think Brown might have a role to play in this game though, especially if we aren't at it from the off like LiE says. Ahh ****. I've already paid for my tube and train to get me from Kings Cross to Norwood, will they refund me? Can't be arsed paying another tenner odd to go via Victoria if they won't give me my wasted wonga back. Bastards.
Might be better off sticking Pugh at LB as he's more defensive minded than White, & we'll have Townsend bombing up & down the left flank anyway. Then if we need to change things later on we'll have White as an option to come on. White & Townsend together looks a bit too attacking.
Becchio and McCormack should be given a chance to play upfront together. Becchio was a great player alongside Beckford, and McCormack needs to play in a front two. Becchio leads the line as well, and one reason I think he's not been doing well recently, is because the crossing has been poor, and he's been isolated. McCormack likes to drop deep and go into the wide positions, so with Becchio knocking ball down for him, I think he'd do well. I think that he's a player that needs to be played in every game to get the best out of him. Yes, he had a goal drought, but he'll get 15-20 goals a season and the only way he'll do that is if he's played every game and given a full 90 minutes. Since we've got no one who'll get the goals and be a more consistent threat than him, he's our best option at the moment.
They linked up very well against Burnley. Townsend has played a few games at left back for Spurs, and got back to help White with the defensive part, so he doesn't look like someone who'll shun defensive responsibility. Plus White has got the pace to get back.
I just don't agree with playing Pugh CM. He's primarily a LB, secondly a back up LM, & lastly a CM. He certainly shouldn't play CM when both Brown & Vayrynen are both fit & available for selection, as they are for this game. They're both specialists in that position & one of those two should get the vote over Pugh to play alongside Clayton.
I'd say you've got it completely the wrong way round. Has Pugh ever said what his favoured position is?
I will be at the game and will be the one shouting regular abuse at O'Dea. I will have my plank of wood (which I normally offer for Kisnorbo) but who will now replace O'Dea when required. Usual pish performance from Leeds, but might struggle to a draw. Looking forward to watching Townsend and Snodgrass (if he is fit enough), those two could be lethal with McCormack up front.
Let's get this straight, Crystal Palace can pretend they are a Croydon club as much as they want, the fact is they are from Thornton Heath and/or Norwood Junction, not Croydon. If you think you're brave, go "alone" with your Leeds scarf into a pub along the road from Thornton Heath station, I would suggest you will have **** in your pants rather quickly.
Couldn't tell you, was always going down for this game, I have mates who are Directors of Palace and I always attend the games against them.
The Leeds fans designated pubs are around Thornton Heath station.I will be in there as i'm sure will be many more Leeds boab.So leave your palarce boab hat in your pocket boab or you may have a sudden need for the loo.
