Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman has denied he wants to sign out-of-contract striker Robert Earnshaw.

The 30-year-old frontman is available on a free transfer following his release by Nottingham Forest. The Eagles had been linked with a move for the Wales international but Freedman has dismissed those reports, according to Sky Sports.

The Palace boss says he is on the lookout for players who can improve his squad and accepts that transfer speculation is inevitable over the summer. But he is adamant that Earnshaw is not on his radar at the moment.

Freedman told the News Shopper: "There's no truth in that yet.

"There are a lot of names in the hat but he's not one."

Palace have already brought in ex-Brighton forward Glenn Murray on a free transfer and is eager to pursue other out-of-contract players.

"I have got two or three free transfers lined up that will hopefully come off," he added.
