I am really looking forward to this game on Tuesday, what a fantastic opportunity to get to the final of the Carling Cup, with a realistic chance of beating Palace over two legs. I am sure that they will feel the same, fielding a youth side in their defeat at Derby yesterday.
Following on from our FA Cup final appearance a few years ago, which amazed me, a supporter of many decades, who could possibly believe that we could go there again so soon?
Having said that we could have beaten Portsmouth, but the likes of Liverpool or more likely Manchester City should give us a three to four goal hammering in the final.
I can remember the last two legged semi final against West Ham back in `65 when we were not really given a chance and suffered a 10-1 aggregate defeat, with local lad Graham Coldrick scoring a consolation goal for us.
After a good few years of challenging for promotion to the big one, I cannot help but think of the fact that had it not been for Sam Hamman and to lesser extent Peter the Pirate, we could not contemplate such relative success.
    Cheers Sam and Peter!
I predict a draw at Palace, and a narrow win after extra time at home.
    What does the team think?

Glad I'm too young to remember a 10-1 mauling. :)

A draw on Tues would be ok but I've got a sneaking feeling we'll come away with an advantage (1-2) to take into the decider at CCS.
If reports are to be believed, CP's squad are dropping with a virus but that could equally be mind games by Freedman. It'll be tough for either over the two games but I think we've got enough to get to Wembley.

The flu virus was true, we played a very weak side against Leicester on the 2nd January due to it, but thankfully all the players are now fit and ready for action on Tuesday.

I have a feeling you guys will probably nick this at your place on the 24th, but whoever makes it to Wembley next month I will be cheering on, as we have both done the Championship proud!!

Here's to a great semi final.

strangely, thats good news as it makes for a better game/s although I wouldn't have complained about a slight advantage due to the virus :)
Having said that, The Championship being what it is... both games could go either way

    cheers
