    10 games left.

    4 at home, 6 away.

We've picked up 11 points from our last 10 games.

Historically, to secure auto promotion we will probably need 20 points from the next 10 games.

The remaining fixtures are as follows:

Shrewsbury (A) - Tough game in prospect. However, the Shrews were thrashed 5-0 by Torquay last weekend and could be there for the taking. I feel it is imperative to avoid defeat here.

Morecambe (A) - Another potentially awkward encounter, and our first visit to the ludicrously named Globe Arena. Morecambe's desire to pull away from the drop zone will need to be equalled by the passion of our team for promotion. One we need to win.

Stockport (H) - Virtually down, Stockport's season has been a disaster. They are a rag tag bunch of youngsters and loanees though they have been better away from Edegeley Park this season. 'Community Day' should ensure a 5000+ crowd. A must win.

Hereford (A) - In both meetings at AP this season, Hereford displayed a guile and flair that left most of us dumbfounded (presumably the case with the players as well). Yet they struggle for home wins (only 2 or 3 this season I think), and the players can take advantage of this.

Oxford (A) - 'Derby' game of sorts as we face the inconsistent yellows who have been just that at the Kassam this season. With their fans, known for delusions of grandeur likely to be out in force and a strong Wycombe following expected, there could well be a near sell out crowd - can the players handle the pressure? An 'Mk Dons 2010' type game awaits.

Northampton (H) - I've been surprised by their travails this season and they are yet to win under new boss Gary Johnson. A must win, though it won't be easy. A real nailbiter in prospect here.

Torquay (A) - The gulls were ruthless in dismantling Shrewsbury on Saturday and remain the best side I've seen at AP this season. Avoiding defeat here will surely be the priority.

Crewe (H) - Another side chasing the playoffs. It's the strikeforce of Donaldson and Miller that concerns me the most, but equally our home advantage could prove crucial. Chances could be at a premium and it may come down to sharpness in front of goal on the day.

    Bury (A) - Potentially massive.

Southend (H) - Final game of the season. Hopefully we'll be home and dry by then, and can romp into league one in style, as Bennett grabs a hatrick and celebrates with his most enthusiastic fans in the Woodlands. However, this is Wycombe we're talking about - we may need a point to ensure promotion. And we all remember what happened against Notts County in May 2009......

Verdict - The team have proved their worth over the season in terms of points but since January have not convinced. I think it is time to alter the formation or bring in another player, and this is a chance for Waddock to display his managerial mettle. Does he have a plan 'B'? Whether this is McClure, or a loanee remains to be seen, but I think the team is in danger of going stale. We have seen numerous interviews of the players telling us they want to 'bounce back'. That is happening too often, and the signing of a loanee like Manset might propel us into league one, a la John Akinde in 2009. The 4 point advantage we already have over 4th placed Rotherham could be the key.

    Thoughts?

all very tough games and i think its going to go to the last game of the season again.we have hit poor form at the wrong time of the season and the players have got to show some bottle now.hopefully manset if he does join will bang the goals in.one major factor will be the return of sandell ,he gives us the proper balance on the left and we have missed him badly.

i think people haven't given enough credit to Sandell and the problems we've had on the left side.
We are totally imbalanced with two right footers on the left hand flank, meaning either the left back or the left mid/winger nearly always cut inside and don't offer anything different. With Waddocks seeming dislike of Leon as well, we have no left footer across the whole team.
If i was an opposing manager then i'd get my defenders to show them the line every time as any cross coming in from a left boot will more than likely be a poor delivery.
The run in doesn't look great for us. Based on current form we are heading for the play offs

I'm afraid that the 4 point advantage could soon disappear and be reversed if they don't pull up their socks pretty soon. They have the ability but the will to win must be there from the start and until that final whistle. Plus the ability to put the ball in the net a few times would be handy. I'll be cheering them to the finish line come what may.

I forgot about Sandell actually. We could perhaps try him on the left of midfield when he comes back. Anything to break the cycle of having Strevens there - I just don't see what he offers us at the moment. It isn't goals, or assists so what is it?

leon played well at barnet then gets dropped for the stevenage game ,dont make any sense to me.i also agree if we sign a left back sandell can move into left midfield and we will have a much better balance

I really think Sandell could be useful at left mid Rocky - he has a great left foot and could whip in some fantastic crosses, something which has been sorely lacking recently. I really like Waddock and hope he is here for years to come but IMO some of the recent decisions have been very odd, particularly with regard to selection up front. Is it time to give McClure a start perhaps rocky?

Also, ticket sales are going well for community day v Stockport. With a couple of weeks until that game who knows, maybe we could even get a 6000+ crowd which should only motivate the players.

Still no sign of Kadeem Harris. Surely he should be given a chance at least. As for the left sided problem, I seem to recall Leon playing at left back quite a bit when he first joined us so wouldn't that be a viable alternative??

young kadeem should be on the bench as i have mentioned several times before ,20 mins to go a tired defense and one cross in the middle to a forward could be the difference between a point and taking all 3 we have nothing to lose we are not scoring enough goals anyway and the choice of bringing strevs on or kadeem i know who i would choose.

That's where I sometimes get concerned. In a few games this season, particularly when trailing by a single goal at home, we don't seem to have been able to find a 'plan B' to get back into the game. Look at Accrington a couple of weeks ago as an example, or last weekend when we failed to seriously test Stevenage 'keeper Chris Day once, even after they had a player sent off. Sometimes I think the management just need to gamble either with the formation or personnel - be it by bringing on Harris or anyone else.

AS I HAVE ALREADY SAID LETS GO FOR IT and play one of mcclure or harris on the left anything is better than strevs , before its too late to do anything.

js my estimation is we will pick up ten points from our remaining games whether that will be enough remains to be seen.

I wish we could have Waddock join in on these discussions. A lot of interesting and well considered points and it would be great if he was reading these posts and could find the time to comment. I also wish I could win the lottery.
