Apparently QPR are interested in Crouchy and 'the club have stated they would be willing to sell' (according to the Metro). What do people think of this? I think that although Crouchy has his uses, and these are mainly against European clubs who have never seen anyone that tall before, when he comes on for us it changes the way the team plays and we resort, more often than not, to playing a long ball game... If we can get a decent fee, I'd be happy to say goodbye to the giant.
You don't want an experienced Premier League striker? I don't think James Beattie has it in him to make another of his annual "leave relegated PL team and join newly promoted team as proven Premiership striker" so I don't see how you have anyother options.
therein lies the problem.. yet another returning messiah.. not sure we would pay his wages demands anyway
Crouch is good in a 4-4-2 when he's playing with a pacey striker alongside him. We don't use that system any more.
thats not what i said im sure he would do a good job for us if he came back to us just think he would be signed for all the wrong reasons ie keeping a vocal section of fans quiet
Stoke want him too. They could use him against their long throw expert to head balls away. Seriously I don't know about Crouch,Keane and Defoe go but Crouchie......well I think he still has his uses, like heading Stoke's long ball expert's throw ins away from goal. But 2 new strikers are needed and Pav and Crouch don't do it for me. Keep Pav and play Crouch as a super sub.......I think.
Selling Crouch, Keane, Defoe, Dos Santos, Palacios, Jenas, Bentley, Hutton and Bassong and getting in a midfielder, a right winger and two forwards for the same transfer fees and wages would do it for me. It is all getting a bit late for all this to happen though.
